The Hangman

Johnny Spells' motorcycle is introduced in a fight, where Gorgug Thistlespring's Insight check reveals that a creature of the lower planes has been bound into it so Johnny can ride it without steering E4·00:04:06. Brennan calls it "a pure hell beast" E4·00:04:06. After the fight, when Fabian Seacaster tries to ride it, a voice whispers in his head and asks, "Who now strides my custom leather seat?" E4·01:08:31. Fabian tells it that he finished off its former master and that it now belongs to him, and Brennan has him write "motorcycle" in his inventory E4·01:08:50 E4·01:09:13. It calls Fabian "Master", and dislikes Riz Gukgak, and flames whoosh up when Riz gives it his business card E4·01:16:35 E4·01:16:36 E4·01:16:40. It then tells Fabian, "Master, together, we will conquer this world of mortals and send their souls to hell!" E4·01:16:48.

Fabian Seacaster takes the bound infernal motorcycle from Johnny Spells and keeps it as his own E4·01:08:50. He asks Bill Seacaster to add crossbones and paint it red, and names it after Bill's old ship, the Hangman E5·01:06:28 E5·01:06:52. When Bill starts to look it over, the skull flares and says, "Unhand me, I am my master's vessel." E5·01:07:33. Bill unveils the result as a red and white skull and crossbones motorcycle that roars with fire E7·00:17:16. The Hangman tells the party that its previous master, whose skull was split by Fabian's bolt, often drove it to the Durinson Mithral Factory to visit his benefactor, Gorthalax the Insatiable E7·01:17:28 E7·01:17:55. It leads them in by blasting through the factory's chain-link fence E7·01:23:33.

In the fight with Crush and the dwarf skaters it is badly damaged but still rideable, and it loves the spreading fire E8·00:12:10 E8·00:24:31 E8·00:31:38. Fabian summons it by speaking to it, and it answers in his head, once warning that rush hour will delay it E10·00:02:35 E15·00:45:29. When it flies out of the stadium so Fabian can run down Coach Daybreak, Brennan calls it an "incredible, gilded, demon motorcycle" E10·00:57:16. When Fabian rides it while on fire, it tells him, "Yes master, I love this." E12·01:12:57. Brennan rules that the Hangman is a magical item, so it can hurt the elementals E12·01:42:34. Because it neither sleeps nor rests, it offers to keep watch over a girl the party is worried about E13·01:05:31 E13·01:05:36.

In the battle with Goldenhoard, Fabian sends it to his friends and orders it to follow their instructions E16·00:57:58 E16·00:58:14. In the final fight with Kalvaxus, Fabian lands on the Hangman and it peels away E17·00:35:25. In the epilogue Fabian says that he and the Hangman begin assembling a crew for a rescue expedition E17·01:18:28.
