0:01:01 Brennan: Last we left off, our Intrepid Heroes were racing over the skies of Elmville, storms wracking the Solisian countryside as Cassandra/the Nightmare King had been summoned back as part of a divine ritual to re-Ankarnate Porter Cliffbreaker as a new god of rage, wrath, war, and ruin. Our wonderful prophet of Cassandra, seeing her goddess, brought to bear to conceal this ritual with some clever divine intervention, not on her part, but on the part of her wizard-made simulacrum made by one Adaine Abernant whispered, "Blimey," into a GoPro strapped to a vulture. And was—

0:01:48 Brennan: I don't think you heard me.

0:01:48 Ally: "Blimey," was to the ether, then turned to the camera and said, "I don't think you heard me. Blimey."

0:01:55 Brennan: Blimey. [players laugh]

0:01:57 Brennan: A ray of lightning shot out of the mouth of this god after a ruinous combat where dragons were dropping from the sky as Fig Faeth rode across her solar Daymare, Gerard Neigh, to smite Grandmama Blue Dragon from the stormy skies as Fabian ran an election and locked down 300 votes.

0:02:21 Lou: We stopped the steal.

0:02:22 Brennan: We stopped the steal, folks. [Zac snorts]

0:02:25 Emily: Oh my god!

0:02:26 Brennan: We stopped the steal!

0:02:26 Ally: Blimey, we did! [Lou claps]

0:02:28 Brennan: Blimey! For the new student body president. By the way, bear in mind that in addition to all this stopping the apocalypse stuff, Kristen Applebees might be class president in her senior year.

0:02:40 Ally: God, that'd be so cool!

0:02:41 Emily: My president.

0:02:42 Brennan: We got the Cloud Rider Engine back up and running. Riz was running the cannon deck along with Eugenia Shadow. Fabian got a brand new Ghost Step tattoo.

0:02:51 Lou: And then I lost it. It ran away.

0:02:53 Brennan: It ran away somewhere else?

0:02:53 Lou: Hiding on my body.

0:02:55 Brennan: Hiding on your body.

0:02:56 Zac: Between your shoulder blades.

0:02:57 Brennan: In between your shoulder blades, a little ghost with feet running back.

0:03:00 Lou: Mid final battle, Fabian is just naked in a mirror, being like, "Where is it?" [players laugh]

0:03:06 Ally: I need to go to a dermatologist.

0:03:08 Lou: Yeah. [Siobhan laughs]

0:03:10 Brennan: And in a proof that the dice firmly are not on my side as a Dungeon Master, but are on the player's side, Cassandra intervened and opened wide her stormy mouth, that Seacaster Manor might fly through into skies wracked by rage and ruin, which is where we now return. Elmville ain't looking so hot, gang. The Bad Kids have come back and it is about, I would say: go ahead, actually, roll a d10 for me whoever wants to.

0:03:46 Lou: Siobhan should do it. Oh, wait.

0:03:47 Zac: Seems like Murph's already—

0:03:48 Murph: You guys want me to get it?

0:03:49 Ally: Yeah.

0:03:49 Siobhan: I got it. I got it! I got it! It's a seven.

0:03:52 Brennan: Okay. It is 10:20 PM as you arrive back in Elmville. You know that the election concludes at midnight. As the ship sails back in, many of you are injured, damage has occurred. Seacaster Manor, thankfully, intact still. But Gorgug, as you fly it back in, you see Elmville stretching out, you see the cratered hole back in the Seacaster Manor estate where the manor would go. But you still are flying a ship. Now, I will say the Cloud Rider Engine doesn't make this a flying ship, per se. So without vapor underneath you, you are kind of coming in for a controlled landing and will have to pick somewhere in Elmville to land.

0:04:36 Gorgug: Fabian, do you have a place that you were hoping to live?

0:04:39 Fabian: What?

0:04:39 Gorgug: A place you're hoping to live?

0:04:41 Fabian: Well, I mean, we've got some time. We're doing all right.

0:04:43 Gorgug: We're coasting, baby! [players laugh]

0:04:46 Fabian: We can't put it back in the hole.

0:04:48 Gorgug: We can't put it back—

0:04:48 Riz: Should do it near the Strongtower Luxury Apartments so we can be neighbors.

0:04:51 Fabian: Oh!

0:04:52 Fig: Oh.

0:04:52 Adaine: Oh, what about the—

0:04:53 Gorgug: Head there!

0:04:54 Fabian: No! Too many fast food restaurants around there!

0:04:57 Gorgug: We're in it!

0:04:58 Riz: It's awesome! You can walk to whatever kinda fast food restaurant you want!

0:04:59 Kristen: Just go to the gym!

0:05:00 Adaine: Oh, what about the old Abernant mansion that's knocked down?

0:05:04 Riz: Oh!

0:05:04 Fabian: Oh, I guess we could put it— how—

0:05:06 Gorgug: It's gonna be like whatever is in front of us. [players laugh]

0:05:09 Brennan: Five, four—

0:05:11 Ally: Target it to the gym!

0:05:11 Brennan: Three!

0:05:12 Ally: Right at the gym!

0:05:12 Brennan: Two.

0:05:13 Ally: Target to the gym!

0:05:13 Brennan: One! Gorgug, where we going?

0:05:15 Zac: We're going towards the gym.

0:05:17 Brennan: Okay, you're going to crash into the gymnasium.

0:05:20 Emily: Yeah.

0:05:20 Lou: What? He said near the gym! He didn't say crash into the gym!

0:05:23 Brennan: All right, near the gym, near the gym.

0:05:24 Emily: We all brace. We all brace.

0:05:25 Lou: We all brace.

0:05:26 Siobhan: Onto to the Bloodrush field.

0:05:27 Riz: Wow, you're gonna have such a short commute to school. It's gonna be awesome, guys.

0:05:31 Brennan: We move slowly but surely towards the Aguefort gymnasium. Kristen, feeling the sudden absence of K2— I will also say I read the rules for simulacra and K2, it's very clear that everything about what happened was totally above board. So I will ask you here for this. With K2 having been [imitates sizzling] vaporized by the deity, do you think, in this moment, communicating with your simulacrum as it vanishes, do you think you would've asked for time, allies, equipment, or do you think you would wish that K2 would not vanish from this realm? [Emily and Zac laugh]

0:06:13 Zac: I can't believe you put that back on the table.

0:06:14 Emily: I know which one I want!

0:06:18 Ally: Truly, I went home in a fugue state feeling as though I was blackout drunk after that episode.

0:06:25 Brennan: For sure.

0:06:26 Ally: And I was sitting with it, and narratively, I actually think that Kristen was really loving feeling like she had a sister. [Zac laughs]

0:06:35 Brennan: Yeah.

0:06:37 Ally: And was honestly probably really sad to see K2, who didn't know what she was doing, commune with a god that was not hers and get vaporized.

0:06:48 Brennan: Yes.

0:06:48 Zac: Equipment. [players laugh]

0:06:50 Ally: So I think that she would want equipment. [players laugh]

0:06:54 Zac: I'm kidding. I'm just joking.

0:06:55 Ally: I think she would want K2 or allies.

0:06:58 Brennan: I understand. So the Divine Intervention allows you to reenter Elmville. I think, in this moment, it is basically a decision between whether you retain that simulacrum so that it is not destroyed upon reentry or whether you want, effectively, that scattered energy to teleport some people here, like to your aid. However, I will say that this is just about this magical divine intervention. So it's not beyond your ability to use this time carefully as you sail back to the gym. So there's one or the other of these things that you want to do the old-fashioned way. You also have that ability now. I will let you marinate on that choice as the ship begins to come back in. You're landing over the school grounds and I think Seacaster Manor. Fabian, I think your house is just in the, like, just sort of destroys a massive field out by the Bloodrush Stadium, and now you live at school.

0:07:55 Kristen: Congrats, man. [players laugh]

0:07:57 Fig: I actually was kinda hoping I could move in once Gilear gets back.

0:08:00 Fabian: Yeah, that would be—

0:08:01 Fig: Is now the time to talk about that?

0:08:03 Fabian: I mean, yeah. I mean, there's plenty of rooms. You could come live—

0:08:06 Gorgug: Sometimes I don't like hitting my head on the doorframe of my parents' house.

0:08:11 Fabian: You wanna come live at Seacaster Manor now that it's at school?

0:08:13 Gorgug: Is that okay?

0:08:14 Fig: Gilear is an amazing paternal figure, and I really miss him.

0:08:18 Fabian: Wow!

0:08:19 Gorgug: I'll take another dad. [players laugh]

0:08:21 Fabian: Like, this is okay. This is okay! This is okay.

0:08:25 Adaine: How's the pullout couch situation? I don't wanna move in, I just wanna be able to have the option.

0:08:30 Fabian: It's incredible. I mean, we have a couch that turns into a bed.

0:08:33 Riz: Probably just pop by during lunch now that we're so close to school. [Siobhan and Emily laugh]

0:08:37 Adaine: Yeah, can we eat lunch in your house?

0:08:39 Fabian: Yeah, I guess we can do an off-campus lunch at my house now. [Emily laughs]

0:08:44 Brennan: As Seacaster Manor lands, [imitates impact] it is impossible not to notice. And as you land sort of within sight of the gymnasium, Jawbone, Ragh, Mazey are all here gathered around as well. If there are enemy forces here at the school, you have almost definitively been spotted as students begin to pour out of the ship.

0:09:04 Zac: Oh, as the students run out, can I look for the artificer students?

0:09:08 Brennan: Yes. You see Unit goes:

0:09:09 Unit: [rhythmically babbles]

0:09:11 Gorgug: Unit. You okay?

0:09:13 Unit: [babbles]

0:09:15 Gorgug: Hey. I've really enjoyed being in school with you this year and... Unit holds their hands out to embrace Gorgug.

0:09:23 Gorgug: Oh. Are you—? Gorgug embraces Unit back. [Unit smacks their lips together] [players laugh]

0:09:29 Emily: Oh! [players laugh]

0:09:31 Fabian: Whoa!

0:09:32 Gorgug: Thank you.

0:09:33 Unit: [babbles]

0:09:34 Gorgug: Yeah. Well, even cowgirls get the blues. The table utterly loses it. [Murph screams] Lou flails his arms about. [Murph screams/wheezes] [players laugh] [Murph screams]

0:09:51 Ally: We have started here? [players laugh]

0:09:54 Brennan: Are we gonna be able—

0:09:55 Siobhan: [pointing at Ally] This is your fault!

0:09:57 Brennan: Are we—

0:09:57 Murph: You can't do this!

0:10:00 Brennan: Are we gonna be able to finish the season?

0:10:02 Murph: That was an off-camera bit where Beardsley said, "If I roll a nat 20 Zac has to say, 'Even cowgirls get the blues.'"

0:10:12 Ally: Immediate nat 20, first roll I made today. [Murph wails covering his face]

0:10:17 Zac: Sorry. Sorry.

0:10:18 Brennan: You see...

0:10:20 Ally: That wasn't the weirdest thing that happened.

0:10:21 Zac: But in character.

0:10:22 Brennan: In character. In character, Unit goes,

0:10:24 Unit: [babbles]

0:10:26 Brennan: And puts on a big old Stetson and walks off. [Murph laughs hysterically and covers his face]

0:10:32 Fabian: All right, Gorgug!

0:10:35 Fig: Gorgug! Back on the market, baby!

0:10:37 Gorgug: I'm just sayin', I don't know!

0:10:40 Fig: How long?

0:10:41 Gorgug: Just the whole year.

0:10:43 Fig: What?

0:10:43 Adaine: Wow!

0:10:44 Fabian: What?

0:10:44 Adaine: That's crazy!

0:10:44 Fig: What?

0:10:44 Gorgug: Yeah.

0:10:46 Kristen: Hey.

0:10:47 Gorgug: It was one-sided.

0:10:48 Kristen: You might wanna stop Unit 'cause everyone going towards the gym is probably about to get slaughtered.

0:10:52 Riz: Oh, also, we need to get the votes. 'cause we need to secure—

0:10:56 Fabian: Mazey.

0:10:57 Brennan: Mazey,

0:10:57 Mazey: yeah.

0:10:57 Fabian: Yeah. Are you all right?

0:10:59 Mazey: Yeah. I'm okay. That was incredible! How are you? Are you okay?

0:11:02 Fabian: Yeah, I'm hanging in there. [players laugh]

0:11:03 Fabian: I mean, I've been through a lot, but I'm glad you're here with me.

0:11:06 Mazey: Yeah, me too.

0:11:07 Brennan: You see Jawbone says,

0:11:07 Jawbone: Okay, we got all the vote. I got all the votes that the kids left.

0:11:13 Brennan: And basically packs up a duffle bag. Mazey goes,

0:11:15 Mazey: So the polls close at midnight but this is already so bad, whatever's happening.

0:11:20 Fabian: Yeah.

0:11:20 Brennan: And you guys see, you hear screams, it sounds like the sounds of screams, fire, sirens off in the town. You hear gunshots just randomly from other neighborhoods. You can feel your blood heating up in your body.

0:11:34 Emily: Okay. So there are little rituals happening.

0:11:37 Lou: Yeah.

0:11:37 Zac: It's rage-fest

0:11:39 Brennan: The temperature right now in Elmville is about like 107 degrees Fahrenheit. Muggy and humid and fucking nasty here. The sky, slow moving lightning [slurps] crawls over the sky around you as everything is cast in this dull, red, ember-like light. Mazey says,

0:11:59 Mazey: I'm only allowed to count the votes at midnight. So it's like 10:30 right now. But also, I don't know if we're safe right here in front of the gym or not, but polls don't close until midnight. I don't know what they need.

0:12:14 Fabian: Where do you need to be to count the votes? Can you do it anywhere?

0:12:17 Mazey: All the votes are delivered to the gymnasium.

0:12:19 Fabian: Okay. Gotta be in the gym.

0:12:20 Adaine: Okay.

0:12:20 Kristen: Great.

0:12:21 Riz: But it has to be at midnight. So for now—

0:12:22 Ally: What's a short rest? Do we have enough time to go into Leo's Tiny Hut?

0:12:27 Brennan: You do! An hour is a short rest.

0:12:29 Ally: Would we get some spell slots back a little bit?

0:12:31 Brennan: You could heal.

0:12:31 Ally: You got 16, right?

0:12:33 Zac: I look like I'd had two hands in toasters. [players laugh]

0:12:35 Ally: Yeah.

0:12:36 Murph: I wouldn't hate a short rest.

0:12:38 Zac: Yeah.

0:12:38 Brennan: Cool.

0:12:39 Ally: Can we go out to my HQ that I have in the forest behind the school? I can cast it again, but—

0:12:44 Brennan: Hell yeah! You guys see—

0:12:44 Ally: If that's the case, I'm gonna do a Channel Divinity to get a 3rd level spell back.

0:12:52 Brennan: Hell yeah.

0:12:52 Ally: Yeah, do it.

0:12:53 Emily: And then, my Channel Divinity will come back on a short rest.

0:12:55 Brennan: Everyone go ahead and start taking your short rest. So start mechanically doing that. You run out. Kristen, as you vanish into it, you can see the stormy haze of your magic, twilight shards, all that stuff begins to move around and create the tiny hut around you, and just in the nick of time you see that the gym crackles with red light and hundreds of shatter-stars begin to move out of the gym, out into the town.

0:13:22 Ally: Can we have taken some of our allies with us from the boat?

0:13:25 Brennan: Yes. I mean, so of the allies, Mazey, Jawbone and Ragh were all right there with you. You see Ragh looks out as you're going in there and Ragh is uninjured and says,

0:13:34 Ragh: I'm just worried about everyone at Mordred. Should I try to go for my mom or anything else like that?

0:13:40 Riz: Yeah. We don't want anything bad to happen to them.

0:13:41 Fabian: Jawbone, you should go as well.

0:13:43 Brennan: He says,

0:13:43 Jawbone: Okay.

0:13:44 Brennan: He gives you the duffle bag of votes, and Mazey is holding onto it as well. And then you see that Jawbone and Ragh says,

0:13:49 Jawbone: All right, my car's parked in the teacher parking lot. Let's go. Oh shit! No, I drove to Seacaster! Okay, we'll get the bus!

0:13:57 Brennan: And you see—

0:13:57 Fabian: What?

0:13:59 Jawbone: We'll get on the bus.

0:14:00 Fabian: Do you wanna take the Hangman?

0:14:02 Brennan: The Hangman says,

0:14:02 Hangman: Sire, I do not wish to transport Jawbone and Ragh. I wish to stay by your side!

0:14:08 Fabian: I'm worried about Ragh's mom!

0:14:09 Riz: So am I, but they're really fast!

0:14:11 Fabian: But we're gonna make them take the bus?

0:14:12 Riz: A werewolf and a barbarian? They're fast as hell!

0:14:15 Fabian: They said they're gonna take the bus, They're not gonna run! [Murph sighs] Could you guys run?

0:14:18 Brennan: You see Jawbone looks over and says,

0:14:19 Jawbone: Ragh, we gotta do it.

0:14:20 Brennan: And you see Jawbone assumes his full wolf form.

0:14:24 Siobhan: Can I cast Fly on them?

0:14:26 Brennan: Yes, you can!

0:14:27 Siobhan: Great. I'll cast Fly on them, 4th-level Fly so they both get a Fly.

0:14:30 Brennan: Jawbone says,

0:14:30 Jawbone: Gotta run! Wee! Thanks, kiddo!

0:14:34 Adaine: You're welcome!

0:14:35 Brennan: Jawbone does a fun Superman pose. Ragh is a little bit afraid of this kinda magic and covers the bottom of his face so he can't see the ground and just stays standing and just Magneto zooms off into the sky. Mazey stays with you in the hut. You guys are all taking your short rest.

0:14:53 Lou: I do a little dance if anyone needs an extra d6 from a Song of Rest.

0:14:58 Zac: I need—

0:14:58 Emily: Do you know if Summons take short rests? Does Gerard Neigh get—

0:15:03 Murph: You can roll your—

0:15:04 Brennan: Gerard Neigh can use hit dice in a short rest. Absolutely.

0:15:08 Zac: If anyone has any extra healing, I rolled all my hit dice and only got up to 60.

0:15:12 Lou: Did you add a extra d6?

0:15:13 Zac: I just added it.

0:15:14 Lou: Oh, only up to 60?

0:15:15 Zac: Yeah, I rolled really bad.

0:15:17 Lou: Do bards get spells back on a short rest?

0:15:18 Emily: No.

0:15:18 Brennan: No. Long rests.

0:15:20 Lou: Okay. Do I get Bardics back on a short rest?

0:15:22 Emily: Yeah.

0:15:23 Brennan: Yes!

0:15:23 Lou: Okay.

0:15:24 Brennan: Okay now.

0:15:24 Siobhan: Okay, that is big.

0:15:26 Zac: Oh, I forgot to add my Con!

0:15:27 Emily: Oh, I get a Pact spell back too!

0:15:28 Zac: Okay, that's—

0:15:28 Brennan: And you add your Con every time with the dice.

0:15:29 Siobhan: Oh! Then I'm back up to full!

0:15:32 Brennan: Hell yeah!

0:15:33 Lou: Just quietly in this tiny hut while just screams and gunshots, we're out here, just trying to gas up.

0:15:39 Brennan: And be like, "Okay, okay, okay.

0:15:40 Lou: All right. Let me do a little dance for everybody while we—

0:15:44 Emily: Oh, I can also do Song of Rest, if that helps.

0:15:47 Ally: Sick! Are you good on health, Gorgug?

0:15:50 Zac: I still need like 27.

0:15:50 Ally: Okay.

0:15:51 Emily: Let me see.

0:15:51 Ally: Yeah.

0:15:53 Brennan: Any other spells people wanna cast as part of this short rest?

0:15:58 Murph: You know what?

0:15:58 Ally: 17.

0:16:00 Murph: Just to maybe make sure that we didn't get fucked over or something, I'm gonna cast Detect Magic on the bag and make sure that there was nothing weird.

0:16:11 Zac: In the bag?

0:16:12 Murph: The bag with all the votes.

0:16:12 Siobhan: What bag?

0:16:14 Emily: Oh!

0:16:15 Ally: The only thing that's come in here with us.

0:16:16 Emily: Clever!

0:16:18 Siobhan: Yeah, I'll ritual cast Detect Magic.

0:16:19 Emily: That's almost such a good idea.

0:16:20 Murph: If Adaine wants to do that, I won't blow this spell slot.

0:16:22 Ally: If we could Message or keep a line open with Jawbone, that'd be great too, just 'cause he entered back out into the world of shatter-stars.

0:16:29 Brennan: I'm sorry, what were the spells you were considering casting?

0:16:31 Siobhan: Ritual Detect Magic on the bag of votes.

0:16:33 Emily: You can regain one d8 extra.

0:16:35 Brennan: Okay. Detect… There is no magic on the bag of votes.

0:16:38 Siobhan: Great.

0:16:38 Murph: Cool.

0:16:38 Siobhan: Oh, maybe we should Ice Feast.

0:16:39 Murph: Oh, we should Ice Feast.

0:16:39 Emily: Oh, if we had K2, they could take the punishments from it.

0:16:45 Siobhan: No, we all take the punishments from it.

0:16:46 Emily: Okay.

0:16:47 Murph: Punishments aren't that bad, if I recall.

0:16:48 Lou: Are we gonna lose any of this stuff, like True Sight or True Seeing and See Invisibility?

0:16:53 Siobhan: Oh yeah.

0:16:53 Lou: Is that stuff gonna go away?

0:16:55 Siobhan: If it is, I have a couple of things that last for an hour, so I wanna wait until it turns 11.

0:16:59 Brennan: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Makes sense.

0:17:01 Emily: I actually do have See Invisibility. I swapped out Silvery Barbs for it a while ago, but do you think it's worth the 2nd level spell?

0:17:10 Siobhan: I think, if enough of us have it—

0:17:12 Ally: Well, I have Faerie Fire, so if I have See Invisibility then I can cast Faerie Fire and then nobody else needs it.

0:17:18 Siobhan: I have Sickening Radiance, which is kinda the same thing.

0:17:20 Emily: Okay, so I think I'm gonna save the 2nd level spell.

0:17:22 Siobhan: Great.

0:17:23 Murph: I think I'll probably do See Invisibility. I have an ability that lets me see within 5 or 10 feet of me, but like- Cool. So I'll do See Invisibility.

0:17:30 Emily: Yeah, maybe I will do See Invisibility, but right at the last second.

0:17:33 Murph: Depends on what your spell economy's like 'cause I don't know that you necessarily need it. Not everyone needs to be firing on Kipperlilly.

0:17:41 Emily: That's true. I actually think, if we wanna talk strategy, I think we should go after Oisín first.

0:17:45 Murph: Oh, definitely!

0:17:45 Emily: Because wizards are the best class.

0:17:47 Murph: Oisín, yeah.

0:17:57 Siobhan: Oh yeah, 'cause he's a blue dragon.

0:17:59 Brennan: Let's go around and say our new hit point totals.

0:18:03 Emily: For me and Gerard Neigh.

0:18:05 Brennan: 126 for Gorgug? You're only three away from full! Damn!
