Jawbone O'Shaughnessey first appears, unnamed, as the bouncer at the Black Pit nightclub: a huge, barbarian-looking human with a thick beard, a short sword and a long sword E5·01:25:46. He has a red tawny beard, a black leather duster and an enormous wolf dog chewing on a bone E5·01:29:18. When the party tries to get in, he tells them, "Dude, Elmville, things work a little differently" E5·01:31:52.

During a fight at the Black Pit the bouncer turns, growling "Not again, not again!" E6·00:24:18, and later explains he has lycanthropy and no healthcare E6·00:57:38 E6·00:57:47. When Riz Gukgak mentions guidance counselor jobs at Aguefort, he gives his name as Jawbone for a reference E6·00:57:54 E6·00:58:09. He becomes the school's guidance counselor E7·00:26:37 and introduces himself as someone who "used to deal drugs out of a nightclub" E7·00:27:19. Now in a cardigan and glasses E11·01:05:45, he counsels Ragh Barkrock that "you can't lie about who you are forever" E11·01:06:13.

At prom he comforts Adaine Abernant during a panic attack, telling her that panic attacks are "not a character flaw" E16·01:15:03, gives her anxiety meds E16·01:16:03, and offers her a place with him and Tracker E16·01:16:53. He climbs Kalvaxus and crawls into the dragon's mouth E16·01:32:17 E16·01:44:42, and is spat out later in the battle E17·00:29:45. At the election he runs the booth and hands out pamphlets, and he ties himself to the deck beside Gorgug S3E18·00:06:40 S3E18·00:12:33 S3E18·00:33:35. In the final battle he takes wolf form and is flown by Adaine's Fly S3E19·00:14:20 S3E19·00:14:30.
