Brawl at the Zombie Bar (Ep. 6)

0:00:14 Emily: I think we should go in there, text them, and then we can listen for the text to be received.

0:00:20 Brennan: You look out into the dance floor and see Zayn Darkshadow.

0:00:25 Emily: I would like to text,

0:00:25 Fig: Omw.

0:00:28 Brennan: And as you send it, Zayn's pocket lights up. [to Ally] There is a young woman. She takes your hand, kisses it, and goes,

0:00:35 Tracker: I'm Tracker.

0:00:38 Brennan: Tracker is talking to you. She leans forward and kisses you on the mouth.

0:00:42 Kristen: Ah! Actually, I don't kiss.

0:00:43 Tracker: I'm so sorry.

0:00:44 Kristen: No, I'm sorry.

0:00:47 Tracker: (growling) (snarling)

0:00:50 Brennan: All over people hit the deck as their bodies start to change.

0:01:07 Brennan: Hello and welcome back to Fantasy High. Last week our intrepid heroes were deep in the Black Pit, Elmville's number one music venue. All the assorted patrons of the bar and club have just burst forward into their true monstrous forms. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, now spread out across the dance floor in the various rooms and venues and our heroes are scattered and in disarray. Here we see the board before us. DJ Brainzz at the turntables, two massive, pulsing amps behind him, Zayn Darkshadow raving it up on the floor, Riz hiding behind the bar stool, Fig and Gorgug hanging back in the dance hall, looking on, having just seen the phone or crystal in Zayn's pocket light up, being texted from Johnny Spells’ burner. In this bar area, we have Kristen Applebees talking about faith and getting a romantic proposition from a young woman who has just freaked the fuck out and turned into a ravening werewolf, and as far from the music as possible, are two most patrician party members, Adaine and Fabian, in the whiskey bar area, as far from the music as they can get. We leap into combat, the first to act as the noise, boom. (imitates electronic music) “Rage!” You see over the pool table, Fabian, the guy across from the other player goes,

0:02:39 Guy: You cheater! [growls]

0:02:43 Brennan: And his body starts to transform, you are the first to act.

0:02:47 Lou: Now are they transforming, things are about to get violent, it's clearly a fight, or—

0:02:54 Brennan: You see from that and you begin to hear the screams from the other part of the room, but your lightning fast reflexes afford you the ability to do something-

0:03:01 Brennan: Based on whether or not you think something bad is about to happen.

0:03:05 Lou: I think something bad's about to happen, I turn to Adaine and I say,

0:03:06 Fabian: We need to find everyone.

0:03:10 Lou: And I take off toward the back room.

0:03:15 Brennan: Awesome.

0:03:16 Lou: I would plan on dashing, if anything.

0:03:18 Brennan: You take your move, so that's gonna be, one, two, three, you have used 15 feet of movement. This room is filled with people hulking out into werewolves. [growling] So this was the mosh pit from earlier.

0:03:37 Brennan: Marrow, the particular— the werewolf that bought the drink is over by the pool table here.

0:03:42 Emily: That's the guy that bought me a drink?

0:03:43 Brennan: That's the guy that bought you a drink, who slugged you in the face.

0:03:45 Emily: Fuck him up, I don't trust him.

0:03:47 Brennan: You've used 15 feet of movement, you have another 15 feet left, but you see this room, you look through the window here, go ahead and give me a Pperception check.

0:03:59 Lou: 14.

0:04:00 Brennan: 14. You see DJ Brainzz. You do not see Riz, who is more hidden than he's ever been. You see DJ Brainzz, and you see, Zayn Darkshadow, all the way through, because he's got these weird, glowing rave things around.

0:04:16 Brennan: You have the rest of your movement left, you can of course, use a dash action if you want as well.

0:04:20 Lou: Ah, I need to wait for Adaine. Can I dodge?

0:04:25 Brennan: Yes, do you want to stay in the door and not use any of your movement? Use your dodge action?

0:04:29 Lou: I guess I'll move to more, along the wall I guess.

0:04:31 Brennan: Okay. You use your dodge action, so you move three more spaces here and you guys see that the quickest to act after Fabian are a group of people that you thought were just gothy, or didn't get out much and you now see, are clearly vampires. This tall vampire with an open trench coat grabs the person to his left, sinks his fangs into her neck, and exsanguinates her completely. Goes, and she drops lifeless to the ground as he says,

0:05:07 Sasha: [lofty, campy voice] [laughs] Sasha, Lord of Whispers, calls for the blood hunt!

0:05:13 Ally: [mocking his accent] Daddy.

0:05:13 Emily: “Daddy.” [laughs]

0:05:17 Brennan: This vampire is going to make perception roll and starts running straight for you, Fig. Other vampires are going to act as well, it's going to be...

0:05:36 Lou: [softly] [to Ally] Can you see you?

0:05:37 Ally: Yeah, I'm in the corner. [points to their mini]

0:05:38 Brennan: This is going, well— One of the vampires from the pinball machine, rushes, grabs a young woman at the bar [biting sounds] and begins to exsanguinate. The rest of our vampires go. It just turns into a total feeding frenzy over here and you see, Kristen, that one of the vampires attacks you. What is your armor class currently?

0:06:02 Ally: 18.

0:06:04 Brennan: 18. Ally points up at Helio by way of explanation.

0:06:06 Emily: Yeah.

0:06:08 Brennan: You take 9 points of damage as the vampire slashes across your face.

0:06:15 Zac: Ooh!

0:06:16 Brennan: And goes,

0:06:16 Vampire: Little human girl, you look nice and [slurps] warm. [slurping sounds] Ally shakes their head.

0:06:25 Brennan: Oh, it's now Adaine's turn.

0:06:27 Siobhan: Shit. Well, all I've seen is this werewolf guy turning. Do I know what phase of the moon it is? As a wizard, is that a thing, that I would--

0:06:35 Brennan: Go ahead and give me an Arcana check.

0:06:37 Siobhan: Great. Ooh, 11.

0:06:41 Brennan: You know it's not the full moon.

0:06:42 Siobhan: Okay. Shit. I would like to run as close to this bouncer as I can get, with a disengage action.

0:06:58 Brennan: Okay.

0:06:59 Siobhan: So, hopefully nobody attacks me.

0:07:02 Brennan: Okay, yeah. Go ahead and move, disengage means you can only move six squares, if you take a dash action, you can move 12.

0:07:12 Brennan: Rad, you run as fast as you can, sprinting towards the exit. Now, the zombies are going to go. [tense music] [zombies growling]

0:07:27 Emily: There’s zombies, vampires, and werewolves. Are there any, just innocent bystanders?

0:07:33 Murph: I think— we saw people getting eaten.

0:07:35 Ally: Yeah.

0:07:37 Zac: This man at the bar, it’s so sad, he looks like—

0:07:40 Lou: He looks like such a sweetie.

0:07:42 Emily: He's definitely here because he's—

0:07:44 Zac: He's got a book under his arm.

0:07:45 Emily: He's in a fight with his wife.

0:07:46 Zac: Oh, no!

0:07:47 Brennan: I mean, just clubbed to death.

0:07:51 Brennan: With their, there's not even hitting with their fists, they're hitting with the, like, just the forearm, crack his skull wide open.

0:08:02 Brennan: [moving an enemy] One, two, three.

0:08:05 Zac: Oh shit, they're coming at you. Are both of them?

0:08:09 Brennan: Yeah, it looks like they're coming at both of you guys.

0:08:20 Brennan: They're going to take some swings at ya. That's going to be three zombies on Fig, what's your AC?

0:08:55 Brennan: As the music spins [record scratches] you see the glamor on the DJ's face changes. The DJ has a rotting necrotic face, covered by a paltry illusion. Just a, a zombie. A fully, undead necrotic DJ. [imitates dubstep bass sounds]

0:09:14 Murph: Cool. I'm going to run up on stage.

0:09:18 Brennan: Rad, you're going to take your movement to get up there.

0:09:22 Murph: Yep. Then I'm going to try to- Actually, I will use my Insightful Fighting-

0:09:28 Murph: To see if I could get Sneak Attack on him.

0:09:30 Brennan: And it’s versus his Deception.

0:09:36 Murph: [slaps table] Nat 1. Brennan can’t help but to laugh and clap his hands.

0:10:13 Brennan: You run up on stage and hit him through this rotting, pustule of green bile. Squirts out of this side of him, and he reaches out onto the turntable and goes,

0:10:23 DJ Brainzz: [like a record scratch] O-o-oh, no.

0:10:28 Brennan: You see that, that is Riz's turn. Zayn goes one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.

0:10:46 Emily: Let him run.

0:10:47 Brennan: That's going to be Gorgug.

0:10:50 Emily: That's fine, we'll see him at school.

0:10:52 Lou: [whispers] Yeah, we'll find him at school.

0:10:55 Ally: There is no exit though, right? Sorry.

0:10:56 Zac: I'm gonna go into a rage, Gorgug thinks about taking his time, but it's just too much. He just goes into a rage.

0:11:04 Brennan: Oh, ah not to mention, the song is particularly (electronic music blares briefly) infecting.

0:11:10 Ally: I think it was yelling “Rage” at one point. [deepens voice] Rage, Gorgug, rage!

0:11:14 Zac: I'm going to attack this one, with, I'm going to use Frenzy and attack, well I'm going to attack that person and then use Frenzy on another. Okay, so. Sheesh. That's only a 13.

0:11:34 Emily: I mean she's wearing no armor.

0:11:34 Brennan: 13 for a zombie hits.

0:11:36 Zac: Good, okay.

0:11:36 Emily: Yes!

0:12:26 Emily: [quietly] I know, I think we need to disengage.

0:12:29 Brennan: You guys don't have anyone in this room anymore, but I know what's happening. (laughing) This poor soul is leapt on by these two.

0:12:42 Zac: God, Daniel Boone?

0:12:45 Lou: The Daniel Boone.

0:12:46 Ally: Poor Daniel Boone. That's how we win, did you know that?

0:12:49 Lou: Whoa, what's that other guy?

0:12:51 Zac: There's guy dressed exactly like you, but a werewolf.

0:12:55 Siobhan: What a copycat.

0:12:56 Emily: Weird!

0:12:58 Lou: Who's the dude with the helmet?

0:13:01 Brennan: The dude with the helmet is just a partier, in a fucking shredded tank top, who, he was here with a helmet before.

0:13:06 Lou: Okay, great. And is he coming for me?

0:13:08 Brennan: He's got a big anarchy sign on the side of the helmet and he's coming for you, he looks over,

0:13:13 Helmet Dude: Hey man, this ain't your scene. [roars]

0:13:21 Brennan: These guys have disadvantage to hit. What's your armor class, my man?

0:13:26 Lou: 18. (tense music)

0:13:29 Brennan: That's a miss, that's a miss, that's a miss, that's a miss.

0:13:34 Ally: Hell yeah.

0:13:38 Brennan: You, [imitates a sword slicing through the air] as this guy’s just try to get their claws on you.

0:13:42 Helmet Dude: Come on, man!

0:13:45 Fabian: Ha ha!

0:13:49 Brennan: This werewolf turns around, leaps over the table at this vampire.

0:13:53 Murph: Whoa.

0:13:57 Zac: Oh okay, good to know.

0:13:58 Ally: Yeah.

0:13:59 Brennan: Takes some swings, and partially mauls that vampire. As the vampire shrieks out in pain.

0:14:08 Ally: Oh.

0:14:09 Emily: Yeah, fuck each other up.

0:14:11 Ally: Yeah maybe we could hide.

0:14:12 Brennan: You see that Tracker turns to the vampire that attacked you.

0:14:17 Ally: Romantic.

0:14:19 Brennan: And leaps on her, scratching her eyes out with her claws. [roars]

0:14:26 Brennan: That's going to be, Kristen.

0:14:31 Ally: Okay, cool, then I'm going to run and jump up on the bar.

0:14:38 Brennan: Sure, if you'd like.

0:14:39 Ally: Cool, I'm just going to try and get as close to this door as I can.

0:14:42 Brennan: Cool, that's going to be an acrobatics check to get up on that.

0:14:45 Ally: Yeah, I will. You know how well this goes. 18, cool.

0:17:15 Brennan: Yeah, these guys, this guy is dead. These guys straight up start fleeing, run off stage.

0:18:08 Brennan: That is now going to be Fig.

0:18:12 Emily: Can I just flip over Gorgug to hide behind him?

0:18:17 Brennan: You want to flip over Gorgug to hide behind him? Okay, you can actually, you could take a disengage and move through Gorgug's space, for sure.

0:18:27 Emily: Okay, but do I have to take a disengage, can I just use my action to go underneath Gorgug's legs and hide behind him?

0:18:33 Brennan: You can take your move action to move through Gorgug, but they will get attacks of opportunity on you, unless you take the disengage action.

0:18:39 Emily: Okay, I'm gonna take that disengage then, so I'm gonna go disengage and go behind Gorgug, and I guess maybe, ah fuck, that guy's gonna--

0:20:49 Brennan: You fucking, like a, fucking gazelle just, (smashing glass) protect your face, right into the shoulder, glass doesn't even remain on your clothes as you're through the other side. You have four squares of movement left. How do you want to use it?

0:21:15 Brennan: You are well and truly behind the bar, so you [glass breaking] through the window, no glass on you, and are behind the bar.

0:21:22 Ally: Hell yeah. Lou crosses his hands over his chest, grinning.

0:21:23 Brennan: Having used your move.

0:21:24 Lou: Hell yeah.

0:21:26 Brennan: That window by the way is broken.

0:21:28 Murph: Sweet, that’s helpful for everyone.

0:21:30 Brennan: The vampires are going to go now. (tense music)

0:21:35 Zac: Aww, come on.

0:21:37 Ally: Whoa, swords.

0:21:38 Zac: It's going right through that beam of light?

0:21:41 Brennan: It is going through that beam of light. These two turn here, vampires, these guys swarm over here.

0:21:52 Lou: God damn.

0:21:54 Zac: Killing people.

0:21:56 Ally: Fuck.

0:21:57 Lou: This is a blood bath.

0:21:59 Siobhan: Literally!

0:21:59 Emily: More werewolves fighting vampires.

0:22:05 Brennan: I'm going to need, Kristen, what's your armor class again?

0:22:09 Brennan: 18. A vampire leaps up on the bar and says,

0:22:14 Vampire: Where you going, don't you want to get to know me? [hisses and begins to bite]

0:22:19 Brennan: And your halo glows brighter. [heavenly chiming]

0:22:23 Kristen: I don't yet, not for five years. (laughing)

0:22:29 Brennan: Hell yeah. These two vampires, start going to work on this werewolf. Their attacks do literally nothing, you see them connecting with the werewolf and punching it, [snarling and growling] this guy behind Gorgug is going to start swinging at him.

0:22:50 Zac: I've had my eyes on this two-sworded man for a while.

0:22:53 Brennan: What's your AC again dude?

0:22:55 Zac: It is 13.

0:22:57 Brennan: 13, that's going to be, 9 points of damage to you.

0:23:05 Brennan: Halved, yes.
