Bill Seacaster
Bill (William) Seacaster is Fabian's father, whom Fabian introduces as "the famous William Seacaster", an adventurer who sailed the Celestine Sea E1·00:03:01. Brennan describes him as an over-the-top pirate with a tricorn hat, an eye patch, a saber and a long coat, whose wealth came by means "some call heroic and others would call… uh, evil" E1·00:05:39. He tells Fabian he never had any schooling and advises him to find "the biggest and meanest man there" on his first day E1·00:06:19. He also says he paid Coach Daybreak a bribe to help his son E1·00:08:03.
Bill is a loud, doting pirate father who celebrates violence and plunder, cheering when Fabian brings home a motorcycle as his "first plunder" E5·01:05:07. He tells Fabian that he killed his own father with a dagger on his deathbed E3·00:44:44. At Seacaster Manor he admits he cannot read E6·01:05:42, and after a night with the party he preaches "the law of the blade" and drills them in his own style E7·00:04:56 E7·00:13:46. He vows that when his time comes he will leap into Hell and kill the Devil E7·00:11:30.
Bill says Mr. Hughes, a bank representative from Bastion City, has contacted him for some work "in my retirement" E11·01:28:49. He insists to the party that he is "a pirate through and through" E13·00:29:37, and tells Fabian that the Harpy was the flagship of Kalvaxus E13·01:08:38. Sklonda's case files show KVX Bank paying money to William Seacaster E13·01:24:53. When Fabian calls him from jail, Bill arrives, fights his son in the cell and is knocked out E15·00:37:37.
On prom night Fabian finds Bill dying at Seacaster Manor among some sixty dead attackers E15·01:48:23. Bill admits he worked for the bank as its new palimpsest supplier E15·01:50:45, hands Fabian his eye patch, and Fabian drives his sword into his heart as Bill cheers "That's the way you do it, boy!" E15·01:51:55. His coat explodes as he shouts that he will leap into hell and kill the devil E15·01:52:18. In Hell, Bill greets Fabian, has his dead crew turn Kalvaxus into a ship, and plans to take the throne of the Ninth Pit E17·01:04:05 E17·01:04:42. The epilogue shows his funeral, attended by Hallariel E17·01:10:42.
