Amethar is the warrior king of Candia and father of the twin princesses Ruby and Jet; he is reluctant about becoming emperor and says he feels he is supposed to CC E1·01:36:18. He rages at the front of every battle: he charges the ambush on the Sucrosi Road, goes down three times, and says so at the end of the episode CC E2·00:19:13 CC E2·01:53:42. He is poisoned in the tournament and still rises to hit Keradin CC E4·00:38:35 CC E4·01:14:40.
His past turns on him. At the cathedral trial he swears that he was once married to a woman of the Dairy Islands and that the annulment was never official CC E5·02:11:27 CC E5·02:12:08.
