In the cathedral trial the Pontifex asks whether Lady Plumbeline will swear upon the Holy Book of Leaves, relic of Saint Citrina of Candia CC E5·02:06:17. Brennan describes it as a glowing book, Amethar's sister's, that works as a magical item compelling truth CC E5·02:07:01.
The Book of Saint Citrina, called the Holy Book of Leaves in CC_05, is a relic of Saint Citrina, Amethar's sister, and a magical item that compels truth CC E5·02:06:17 CC E5·02:07:01. In CC_05 Plumbeline says she submits to swearing upon the relic, and after a Nat 20 Arcana check Brennan tells Zac the magic of the book comes directly from the Bulb and that it is Citrina's actual book, not a portkey CC E5·02:07:16 CC E5·02:08:25. The Pontifex then puts the question of his lawful wife to Amethar with his hand on the book, and Amethar says he was previously married to a woman of the Dairy Islands CC E5·02:11:11 CC E5·02:11:27. In the CC_06 recap Brennan says it compelled him to tell the truth, and in the fight Brennan calls it a pure Relic held in the Great Cathedral of Comida CC E6·00:00:57 CC E6·00:35:19. In CC_09 Annabelle says that getting the Book would let them confirm that Amethar is the Emperor of the Concord CC E9·00:35:06. In CC_17 the Pontifex falls from the wall and the Book is left on the ledge, and Liam takes it for the queen CC E17·01:47:42 CC E17·01:48:02. After the battle Liam gives it to Saccharina, and Amethar puts his hand on it and says Gustavo Uvano named him Emperor of the Concord CC E17·02:06:12 CC E17·02:09:03. Primsy says the Dairy Islands recognizes the claim made on the Book as true CC E17·02:09:11.
