Mirror, Mirror
What happens
- 00:00:54 Brennan welcomes the audience; recap of the six heroes (recap) at 00:01:13–00:03:10.
- 00:03:10 Evening at a campfire supper on the road to Shoeberg; Bandlebridge stays in his shoe carriage; Boffit puts the silvery birch log on the fire; the Hen lets those who helped serve themselves.
- 00:06:14 Timothy casts Healing Word (a good nine) on Ylfa, who has not let go of a sword blade.
- 00:06:21 Timothy sits with King Cole of Jubilee; Cole tells of his lost kingdom and three fiddlers (Timothy's Insight 17); Gerard hears faint fiddle music (Perception 15); Timothy hears it from his book (Perception 23).
- 00:17:00 Light and music pour out of a book page; Cole sees his fiddlers, recites "Old King Cole" and is taken into the book as the rhyme completes; the Hen, seeing it, flees the camp with the other wagons.
- 00:26:52 Pib and Pinocchio get Stephan to step out and slap the horses so the shoe carriage drives off without him; the party takes Cole's chariot and ram.
- 00:29:09 The caravan flees ahead; the blue-cloaked traveler gives his name as Herr Drosselmeyer and asks why everyone left; Gerard answers "There was a terrifying ostrich in the woods." 00:29:31; he vanishes in light and leaves his teapot carriage and its rabbit.
- 00:31:05 Pib picks the carriage lock (24) and finds an alpine clockwork manor inside.
- 00:32:31 Outside, Pinocchio, Ylfa, Gerard and Rosamund each touch Timothy's book; each touch gives a different result (an etching of toys that slowly fades, a bloody wolf, a half-return to human form, a prince portrait then a glass-armored woman); a parchment hand reaches for Timothy's throat.
- 00:48:54 Inside, Pib's Investigation is a natural 20: a running cat clock, a hook that stops time, and a covered mirror from the Kingdom of Tapestry who speaks to him and shows two visions (Marienne in ruin; the land swallowed into a large book, strife removed, a cat in boots on a cushion on its last page) and answers a third question aloud.
- 01:03:35 Pib returns; Herr Drosselmeyer comes back leading an ostrich, questions the party, touches the book, speaks a prophecy and turns into an owl and then text.
- 01:21:24 Pib takes Pinocchio to the mirror; the mirror demands "Bring me back to her" and the teapot carriage collapses.
- 01:22:30 The party shares information: Ylfa says she is a werewolf; Gerard's remembered golden sphere; Elegy (History 17 and 23); Timothy's Arcana 23 finds new pages; Pib shows Bandlebridge's genealogy scroll.
- 01:36:11 The rabbit Eidelgrin offers to avoid Shoeberg; Timothy gets a wig made from Ylfa's cut pigtails; the party enters the forest led by Rosamund and emerges after a day or two at an abandoned hamlet.
- 01:51:34 Wine cellar, the mice and their account of a fairy godmother who turns creatures and objects into servants.
- 02:03:07 Pinocchio opens an old door upstairs onto a bedroom with two skeletons, a carving knife and an etching; he takes a doorknob.
- 02:13:51 Ylfa smells godmother's blood and tracks it; Eidelgrin and the ram (named Senator by Pinocchio) go back to the house.
- 02:16:34 On the trail: corpses, gold, claw marks of furniture; later, wire-and-household-object sculptures ("a birdhouse full of human finger bones, a strange watering can filled with blood" 02:20:37); the party sneaks to a camp of half-transformed objects and a sickly fairy godmother with a glass spear in her chest.
- 02:32:25 A distraction and extraction plan is made; a second Stealth check fails; the godmother hears them; initiative is called.
- 02:35:35 End of the game; next-time preview (see Table talk).
