Queen Saccharina Frostwhip first appears as a figure towering over a hall as fire reaches the throne: a warrior ice cream sundae with a caramel cape, cherry epaulets and a Neapolitan-colored Mohawk, wearing plate mail CC E11·01:20:58 CC E11·01:21:45. She carries Winterscoop the Spooning Staff, a giant wood-wrought spoon frosted with ice cream, and a long sword and short sword at her side CC E11·01:21:32 CC E11·01:21:47. Her card calls her Queen Saccharina of House Frostwhip, sovereign ruler of Candia and the Sugarlands, high priestess of the Sweetening Path and enemy of the Faith CC E11·01:21:17. When the prisoners are brought to her she says she is the legal Queen of Candia and the Sugarlands, and Queen Caramelinda asks by what claim CC E11·01:22:34 CC E11·01:22:48.

Brennan says Saccharina is a witch-queen deep in the mountains with a band of marauders serving her CC E11·01:28:01. In CC_11 Amethar says "So, I'm looking at my daughter" and she answers "you said it, not me" CC E11·01:24:10. Later she tells him "You can just call me Saccharina, I am your daughter" CC E11·01:36:08. Brennan says Amethar sees Catherine Ghee's eyes in her CC E11·01:28:01. She says she is a penniless orphan who escaped a nunnery and earned every follower she has CC E11·01:38:26. She says she does not care about the Candian throne except as a very fancy tool, and that her goal is a golden age of magic and the destruction of the Church CC E11·01:55:20. She tells Cumulous she has studied everything Lazuli did and is her niece CC E11·01:31:30.

In CC_12 she saves Joren in the fight at Buzzybrook, casting Spare the Dying on him CC E12·00:48:48. She hands him to Amethar with "I got your cousin" CC E12·00:50:46. She burns Commander Grissini's banner with a lightning bolt, calls the retreat when Caramelinda cannot hold on CC E12·01:25:16 CC E12·01:53:31. Brennan says she looks as if she is holding back some while Ruby decides not to finish the badly injured Grissini CC E12·01:27:30. In CC_13 she tells Liam she grew up in a nunnery where she was abused by nuns, and says that if she is queen the Bulb will not be in Candia CC E13·01:01:32 CC E13·00:59:03. The Order of the Spinning Star's monks pledge themselves to her CC E13·01:02:37. She opens the Ice Cream Temple's gate with her spoon, saying "Lazuli, watch over me," and Brennan says she knows by heart one of the Sugar-Plum Fairy's true names on the stair door CC E13·01:31:16 CC E13·01:37:56.

Against the Sugar-Plum Fairy in CC_14 she counterspells the Fairy's first area spell CC E14·00:06:06. She burns the dark chocolate egg with Create Bonfire, and a dragon hatches CC E14·01:01:27 CC E14·01:03:14. She claims it with "I finally have a family" CC E14·01:04:49. Emily says "Cinnamon is the dragon" CC E14·01:30:21. She weakens the Fairy with Create Bonfire so Ruby can finish her CC E14·01:33:10 CC E14·01:33:18. Ruby tells her she cannot have both a sister and a queen, and Saccharina answers "if I must choose, then I choose to be your queen" CC E14·01:54:38. In CC_15 she is crowned at Castle Manylicks in a pagan ceremony performed by Spearia Mentha, and asks Liam to head her archers CC E15·01:14:45 CC E15·01:15:21 CC E15·01:05:25. She tells Theobald that Cinnamon is the first creature who ever freely and immediately loved her and that she will have difficulty saying no to him CC E15·01:55:47 CC E15·01:56:39. In a village she lets Cinnamon eat Bulbian clergy, and later she lets him go to Port Syrup, which the party finds sacked CC E15·01:33:07 CC E15·01:38:08.

In CC_16 she reproves Swifty and Gooey, saying that what happened in Port Syrup was disgusting, and she says she will not send Cinnamon on any more trips with them CC E16·00:22:45 CC E16·00:31:29. From Swifty she learns that her mother died before Amethar's marriage, and says that if the family had been straightforward she would have used the throne to destroy the Church CC E16·00:24:10 CC E16·00:24:53. In the battle of Dulcington she rides Cinnamon, and cries "My baby!" when a ballista hits him CC E16·01:51:18. After the final battle Brennan says both she and Ruby chose to look for understanding rather than strike CC E17·01:59:36. She asks Amethar whether he really wants to be king, and he defers to her CC E17·02:06:28 CC E17·02:06:48. When the party realizes Amethar can swear on the Book of Saint Citrina that he was named Emperor, she says Candia would certainly need a queen CC E17·02:08:51 CC E17·02:09:03. Brennan's epilogue calls her the new and powerful Witch Queen of Candia, with Ruby as her advisor CC E17·02:23:33.
