Wrecked on Rec 97
What happens
- 00:00:38 Brennan welcomes viewers and recaps: the crew left Madrugada Station with no shields after a double-crossing proldier alerted Jan de la Vega, captain of the Lady Pike; a Cerebro-slug has taken over the Skipper's brain stem; "people who promised to always have your back" married into the ruling family of Crown and Scepter Limited; the Princeps's ship signature points to Rec 97 and the name Madeline Maud — 00:00:52–00:03:40
- 00:04:40 "The ball is rolling up the hill" toast, then the Red Hot drops out of faster-than-light speed in front of Recreation Station 97, described in detail; the docking agent sends the ship to Level 7, Vale of Tiers — 00:05:04–00:07:38
- 00:08:07 Dock workers swarm the ship; Sidney proposes a working escape pod, so Margaret moves into the captain's quarters; Margaret questions her choices and finds Skip's unhinged paperwork — 00:08:17–00:12:02
- 00:12:27 The crew discuss pursuit by De la Vega (hard to track after an FTL jump), the ship's lapsed registration and a new name ("The Blue Cool", "Full Scramble") — 00:12:32–00:14:29
- 00:14:33 Jib-Job workers leave the ship; a dock mechanic (Mona Medina) refuses critical aid until paid; Riva casts Calm Emotions while Sidney plays her gun flute; Skip says "Rescind, baby" and the ship is filled up (fuel back to 15) — 00:15:34–00:20:01
- 00:20:37 Gunnie supervises repairs with Mona Medina: 10 units of fuel, the Used condition removed, full repair, escape pod; all covered by the 3,200 credits except the pod (200 to 350) — 00:20:55–00:22:46
- 00:23:42 Margaret's Business check (21) and a day of restructuring: co-ownership contracts, a hole in Takamori's backstory, the U4F union, a chef for Jib-Job, the Smash 'n Grab app; photo shoot of the crew — 00:23:53–00:32:38
- 00:32:41 Sidney and Gunnie become the ship's caterers; Margaret's Persuasion 27 lifts Jib-Job to silver tier and removes the ship's food costs — 00:32:46–00:35:42
- 00:36:44 Skip signs the co-ownership contract with a publicity photo; champagne from Sidney's gun — 00:36:44–00:39:03
- 00:39:10 Union plans, Gunnie's health insurance, and the new ship name "We're The Wurst" — 00:39:10–00:41:38
- 00:41:50 Riva spots the Pleasure Putty Factory Outlet; the crew pool 580 credits toward repairs and registration; corporate cards are handed out; Gunnie gets 10 plus 50 credits for chef's tools — 00:42:08–00:47:06
- 00:47:44 Sidney takes a short rest; Barry tells Margaret he will follow her; Margaret shares that the Princeps is at the Obfusion Arms under Madeline Maud — 00:47:44–00:50:14
- 00:50:55 The crew walk into the Vale of Tiers; news anchor Jimmy the Snout reports on unrest on Rubian V and the Reddit user Hotbox420; Margaret starts Smash 'n Grab — 00:50:55–00:56:53
- 00:57:16 At the five-way intersection near an up and downsie daisy, three jobs appear on Smash 'n Grab (300 credits a day security, a 2,000-credit pawn shop job, a 25,000 "zero credits" job at Blue Heaven level) — 00:58:58–01:01:34
- 01:01:45 Skip senses nothing special about the Brigader's Bier; Sidney casts Enhance Droid on the three droid-like characters for Charisma advantage — 01:01:45–01:03:52
- 01:04:45 The Brigader's Bier: Riva sells Pleasure Putty to the bachelorette party of Zvoon, then recruits all eight attendees as salespeople for 120 credits — 01:06:08–01:16:07
- 01:17:24 Gunnie's Perception nat 20 spots Gust Weatherall, who buys Skip two double death commandos; Skip's Intelligence nat 1; Riva reads Gust's derisive pity — 01:17:30–01:25:33
- 01:24:11 Riva reads Gust's surface thoughts and hears "it's wearing off" (Brennan: an incorrect reading, he did not know of the Cerebro-slug) — 01:24:11, 01:25:33
- 01:25:51 The crew skip the pawn shop and choose Blue Heaven; Handy Annie scouts the cafe Emfertoir (Investigation 13) — 01:25:51–01:30:21
- 01:30:24 Margaret's pep talk with Sage Advice and Master's Advice (+7 on the first Persuasion roll); the ride up to Blue Heaven level; RecPols check the crew in — 01:30:25–01:37:34
- 01:37:55 At Emfertoir the droid Salazar fetches them in a RecShaw to the Palazzo Khrome — 01:37:55–01:42:02
- 01:42:02 The Palazzo Khrome; refreshments; Hyacinth Khrome appears with her terrier Mabrow, shows the Warfare Whitney commercial — 01:42:02–01:49:10
- 01:49:22 Hyacinth hires the crew for 25,000 credits to remove her rival's dog Aurora Nebbins from the Carbine Kennel Club Dog Show; the bargaining over 48,000 credits and breaking the dog's legs ends with a ransom plan — 01:49:22–02:00:12
- 02:00:15 Sidney finds a freighter hover truck to leave Blue Heaven; back in the Vale of Tiers the crew decide not to hurt the dog and to go to the hotel — 02:00:40–02:03:21
- 02:03:30 The Obfusion Arms: six massages on the UFTP card, Margaret's out-of-office Deception (24 against a Box of Doom roll of 27), the art deco lobby — 02:04:33–02:08:00
- 02:08:00 Margaret's Charmer feat on the spa concierge, a Persuasion with a nat 20 and a nat 1, and the key card to Madeline Maud's room; Lucienne must have paid for the room and a doorman is kept at the back entrance — 02:08:51–02:12:20; 02:10:52, 02:11:50
- 02:12:24 Brennan ends the episode; the rest is the next-episode teaser — 02:12:24–02:13:02
