The voice says that her brother has made quite a family for himself CC E2·00:15:25. Ruby asks whether she is her aunt, and the voice tells her to take good care of her bow CC E2·00:15:35 CC E2·00:15:38.

Lazuli is Amethar's sister, an archmage of House Rocks, and Ruby's aunt CC E7·00:12:36 CC E2·01:58:55. Theobald says he was her ward and learned to animate Sprinkle from her, and he speaks of her death and of her secret research CC E3·00:34:07 CC E3·00:35:32 CC E3·00:36:31. Ruby sees her in reflections whenever she does magic CC E9·00:49:36.

In a flashback she arrives in blue smoke among her sisters, talks of events that have and have not happened, and says the marriage can be annulled after the war CC E7·00:12:12 CC E7·00:12:36 CC E7·00:13:56. She asks Cumulous to take something to the Monastery of the Spinning Star, and tells Theobald to think for himself and be curious CC E7·00:24:06 CC E7·00:26:36. A spirit reflection of her helps Ruby's Mage Hand catch the slip of paper marked for Candia CC E7·00:33:09. In a crystal vision she says the Fairy's name is close CC E13·01:38:41. Theobald recalls her words at a tea about the world being moved by the thoughts and will of its children CC E14·00:35:01.
