1:42:54 Brennan: And the train rockets off with unicorn magic faster than you've ever seen a New York City subway move. As you race into Brooklyn. We are out of combat, and [the lights in the background flash] the train moves station after station until you stop recognizing the names. The tracks begin to buckle and bend and all of a sudden you're not under ground anymore. You're far far up in the sky in a roller coaster [roller coaster noises] of the train. You see a New York unlike any you've ever seen before. Snow swirls up from the ground and into the sky and a normally starless New York City sky is now filled with stars. Strange constellations, bright and wondrous that you've never seen. As the train moves you see on the bench next to you, Nod, the orphan of dreams, opens their mouth, [gasps] breaths.

1:44:01 Zac: I have my, like, CPR mask.

1:44:04 Ally: It's like as big as its face. [cast laughing]

1:44:08 Brennan: Alejandro sits on a bench just sweating. [pants] Pizza Rat goes,

1:44:14 Pizza Rat: Oh good, we're here, great.

1:44:17 Brennan: Bing, the doors open.

1:44:17 Pizza Rat: All right, I'm home, see you guys, Pete, thanks for the ride, kid.

1:44:22 Pete: Yeah, of course.

1:44:23 Brennan: You see Alejandro says,

1:44:23 Alejandro: [offended] Thanks to the rat, I summoned the train?

1:44:26 Brennan: And then Pizza Rat moseys out but you see this is the last stop on the line so the train is actually going to be here for a few minutes, you've reached the end of the line. Looking out again it is a chilly night but it is not freezing cold. Instead it is a cold that is otherworldly. It's the first blast of winter air that makes you [little gasp] wake up and feel alive coming in from the dream realm. And as you look out and you see no pavement or sidewalk but just a little whisper of mist covering the ground as though you were walking on the surface of a cloud, out there in the dream land, minds of sleeping people cavort and laugh and make merry but also scheme and fear and dread. This is a realm of pure magic. Beyond the ken of the mortal world. As the train stops you hear a voice from the front of the train go,

1:45:27 Train: [smarmy] Well, we're here gang. You're welcome to sleep on our fuzzy seats but if you like you can also go out and find big old bakeries full of dream pies. And those buns you like, Misty Moore!

1:45:42 Emily: I'm walkin' out.

1:45:45 Siobhan: I mean, I'm going out. I've never even,

1:45:46 Misty: I've been in New York for, it's been a long time since I've been to Nod.

1:45:51 Zac: I think I step on the cloud just to make sure it's safe.

1:45:53 Ricky: Come on guys, it's all right, it's okay.

1:45:55 Siobhan: I touch Ricky's very juicy arms as I step down.

1:45:59 Ricky: What's that?

1:46:00 Siobhan: To retend I'm like frailer than I am so I can grope him a little bit.

1:46:02 Ricky: Okay, yes, yes ma’am.

1:46:03 Emily: Me too, me too.

1:46:07 Lou: Do I still have my mind link open?

1:46:09 Brennan: I didn't hear Pete cancel it.

1:46:12 Lou: As we walk off the train, I make eye contact with Pete and in my mind say,

1:46:17 Kingston: I owe you an explanation and an apology.

1:46:21 Ally: I'm holding the baby and I'm like,

1:46:24 Pete: Okay, before we go any further,

1:46:26 Ally: I like step off too, but,

1:46:26 Pete: I want to hear what's going on.

1:46:32 Brennan: You see that Nod wakens in your arms. And this strange alien child with jet black eyes and gray skin that is the spirit of all the lost children that have ever lived in New York whispers up to you as they awake and says,

1:46:58 Nod: All can be explained. All can be answered here. While you walk in the sixth borough, you walk with my blessing. I will not see you come to harm in my realm. As Kingston has said, I too, owe you an explanation and an apology. Brave heroes, gifted and skilled in the ways of magic, denizens of the Unsleeping City. Each of you cross the boundary from one side to the other, though your allegiances may lie more with one than the other. This is a dangerous realm to those that fear change. To those that are unwelcome to the shifting and movement of dream and the ephemeral nature of the mind and it's hearts deepest desires. Come, let us walk here in the sixth borough. There is a diner around the corner that should be open. If you guys want to get food, but I also understand if you're not hungry.

1:48:10 Ricky: I could eat.

1:48:11 Pete: I'm starving.

1:48:12 Misty: I just wanna ask, is this a situation where if we eat here, we can't leave?

1:48:16 Nod: No, you are thinking of your realm, Faerie.

1:48:19 Misty: You know what, we just have a lot in common, I just wanted to make sure.

1:48:23 Nod: I know, Faerie used to be in my dominion.

1:48:28 Brennan: You see that Nod's black eyes sink a little bit blacker and swallow light. And then Nod goes,

1:48:37 Nod: But, there are no hard feelings. Faerie suffered the fate of all the things that have left my realm. The fate of becoming real. Come, let's go get some food. I'm hungry as hell and could use a bite.

1:48:57 Brennan: You see that Nod looks up at you and says,

1:48:58 Nod: Also, I don't have any money 'cause I'm a kid.

1:49:03 Misty: Yeah, can you eat solid food? How big of a baby are you? What kind of a baby are we talking here?

1:49:08 Nod: I've never called myself a baby, did someone call me a baby?

1:49:09 Misty: Yah, you’re a gray baby.

1:49:10 Brennan: You see Alejandro says,

1:49:10 Alejandro: Everyone be cool, no more talking shut up.

1:49:13 Ally: Yeah, we called you gray—

1:49:17 Emily: One.

1:49:17 Ally: Gray one.

1:49:18 Nod: My title is the Gray Orphan.

1:49:20 Ally: Oh.

1:49:21 Nod: Does that help?

1:49:22 Misty: Are you related to the Gray Lady? You know, in the New York Times?

1:49:25 Nod: A paper of record, all news that’s fit to print.

1:49:27 Misty: Yeah, a different gray family or?

1:49:29 Nod: The very first New York Times [suddenly threatening] was stolen from me.

1:49:34 Misty: Woo.

1:49:37 Nod: But it's okay, I don't hold grudges like that.

1:49:38 Sofia: Yay. Mm.

1:49:39 Misty: Oh, okay.

1:49:42 Sofia: I've got a credit card, we can put it on my card.

1:49:45 Nod: Wonderful.

1:49:45 Misty: Yeah, I'm good for it.

1:49:46 Pete: Oh, I have a ton of money, I have so much money.

1:49:48 Nod: There is a pretty hefty foreign transaction fee here in the Sixth Borough.

1:49:52 Sofia: Honestly, it'd be nice to spend money on something.

1:49:55 Nod: Very good, come, let us walk.

1:49:59 Brennan: You see that the orphan just slides through the mist as though on a conveyor belt and does not move their hands and just stares straight ahead as they, [mimes floating very quickly] through the mist.

1:50:10 Ally: Cool.

1:50:12 Kugrash: All right, guys. Pete, I don't know exactly how we got to this where you have this gray baby but I feel like there's been a lot of secrets with all of us and we gotta start trusting each other or else.

1:50:26 Sofia: I've been a pretty open book, personally.

1:50:28 Kugrash: Except for Sofie and Ricky.

1:50:30 Ricky: I gave you my one secret. That I went to high school and then became a firefighter.

1:50:35 Misty: It's not a secret, that's just a secret—

1:50:37 Sofia: It would be helpful though to know, like, what was going on with everyone. [somber piano music]

1:50:40 Murph: Yes, so Pete, I understand that you have a hard time trusting people and you should because we're keeping-- things from you.

1:50:47 Misty: Oh yeah-- I'll tell you about me.

1:50:49 Kugrash: We've been, I was a white collar criminal. I was a bad person and I took money that I was supposed to invest. I was an investor, I took money I was supposed to invest from a school, a first school I leveraged against it. Screwed a lot of people over. Gabriela Sinclaire, your crush's mom, was my partner, and I screwed her over and she turned me into a rat. She's a witch, so she could also have something to do with this.

1:51:23 Misty: Ooh.

1:51:24 Kugrash: And I know—

1:51:25 Ricky: How do you know I have a crush? Brennan lets out a wheezing laugh.

1:51:28 Kugrash: It's—

1:51:29 Ricky: I didn't talk about--

1:51:30 Kugrash: Oh, you, this is a secret, man.

1:51:30 Pete: You said like--

1:51:34 Ricky: Well, I just haven't said it out in that way, with you guys.

1:52:19 Kingston: I don't like this place, I would like to leave.

1:52:21 Nod: Something was able to tip them off.

1:52:24 Kingston: And what was that, gray baby?

1:52:25 Nod: I would thank you not to call me that again.

1:52:28 Brennan: You feel something change in the dreaming.

1:52:30 Angel: Sir, sir, sir, sir, sir! [blows landing]

1:52:32 Emily: What the actual fuck? [dramatic end to music]
