The Seeds of Conflict
What happens
- 00:00:01 Matt's voice-over over the map: Calorum is a "vast, many-cultured land"; the great King Arthur Cardoon of Vegetania has died with no heir, and "the Ravening War" is where the story begins.
- 00:01:49 Welcome to the side quest, the "Scrumptious Scoundrels" and the players introduced.
- 00:03:42 Rain over the Vegetanian cabbage hills; a retinue and two pale gourd carriages travel the Pilgrim's Road toward Comida for the Eggamere Festival (22nd Highbloom, 1188).
- 00:05:47 In the first carriage: Lady Amangeaux, Karna (revealing herself) and Bishop Raphaniel. Karna's shape-shifting; the queen's worry about her status; Raphaniel's advice.
- 00:13:43 The carriage stops; a Greenhold knight reports the storm; Raphaniel notes that the knight has seen Karna's face; Karna and the queen speak by telepathy.
- 00:16:28 Second carriage, from Uvano by way of the Glucian Road: Thane Delissandro, his mother Chieftess Cleva Katzon and the sellsword Colin Provolone, with strawberry-riding escorts. A stop; Cleva strikes Colton Gouda; Colin pitches his ambush plan; Sirley Haig joins in.
- 00:29:06 Two days later the party reaches Comida: the Great Pyramid of Food under construction and the Cornucopian Hall. Carriages of Uvano, the Bulbian Church, Candia and Pangranos already stand in the courtyard.
- 00:35:23 The queen is led out; Karna, now a lady's maid, spots a knight who has seen her and drops a yam on him with Eldritch Blast; Raphaniel says he will have the injured knight sent to a far hospital.
- 00:40:21 Raphaniel and the queen talk about trust and the succession; Karna leaves to do her own business; Chutney arrives; the blueberry stand.
- 00:49:11 Delissandro's carriage arrives; Colin's botched announcement; the doorman and the invitation; the Meat Landers enter.
- 00:53:11 The reception; Karna spreads rumours that the queen is alone and friendless.
- 00:56:19 The queen is announced as "widowed"; she greets Count Jacque Tomaté; Raphaniel casts Detect Thoughts, "Not ever probing deeper."
- 01:00:43 Queen Pamela and Princess Citrina Rocks of Candia arrive, then the Ceresian senators Focaccia, Enzo Carbano and Ariana Gemelli.

- 01:33:13 Raphaniel warns the queen that refusing to name a successor makes her "a dam"; she resolves to ally with whoever is next.
- 01:36:05 Cleva questions Colin and hires him to watch Delissandro's back.
- 01:40:12 Delissandro and Ariana talk of the Meat Lands and she leans in close.
- 01:46:28 Night falls; all five find a sealed package ("We know"): Colin on his bed, Karna from a package a running shadowed figure drops outside, Delissandro outside his door, the queen at the foot of her bed, Raphaniel on his windowsill. Colin's holds a burned banner, Karna's a finger, Delissandro's a negligee, the queen's a bloodstained letter about debts, Raphaniel's a pouch of violet cloves.
- 01:56:07 Each decides to go; the queen asks Chutney to cover for her.
- 01:59:03 At the base of the Great Pyramid of Food the characters meet and compare letters; a blue lantern shows; Karna sneaks close.
- 02:04:42 Raphaniel arrives out of breath with an explanation; a round of Insight checks; Karna loses invisibility.
- 02:10:58 They follow the lantern down into the pyramid's basement; masked, robed figures ring the pit and speak as the Fellowship of Destiny's Architects.
- 02:23:00 Raphaniel answers them; the robed figures withdraw.
- 02:27:58 Afterwards: Raphaniel, Delissandro and Karna talk on the stairs and outside; "base trust" between Karna and Delissandro.
- 02:36:37 At the memorial dinner Tomaté claims the Vegetanian throne; Lord Belvedere Cabbage and Archbishop Colliflour refuse his claim.
- 02:40:54 Narration of the following years: the queen must "flee and find safe spaces beyond the home that you had once held", returning to Fructera "in the embrace of your family and your parents"; Tomaté's army, the Ceresian Senate, Focaccia as Imperator, the Dairy Islands, the traitor house of Jawbreaker, and by 1190 a continent-wide war.
