Bloody Harvest
What happens
- 00:00:45 Matt welcomes viewers to episode two and the "Scrumptious Scoundrels" do a prayer-hands gesture; the players are named.
- 00:01:29 Opening narration of the two years since Comida: Vegetania pushed back a disorganized Fructeran invasion and now attacks Ceresia, breaking its alliance; Fructera allies with the Meat Lands by giving them part of the Dairy Islands; a lull in the violence while the whole continent "is holdings its breath".
- 00:02:51 Karna's two years: she aims to get into Tomaté's retinue and works her way into some elements of the Fructeran hierarchy (Deception 17), spreads word against Bulbian footholds, and asks for news of Colin and Deli (Investigation, a natural 1); Deli reaches out to her. She is based around Greenhold.
- 00:07:12 Delissandro's two years: the Meat Lands take Dairy Islands territory; Deli rallies the Meat Lands to unite behind his mother Cleva as "Protector or Defender", strains with his brother Veyn and rival Thanes.
- 00:11:39 Colin's two years: he stays with Deli; Deli gives him the title "Skald"; Cleva hears it and gives a solemn nod.
- 00:14:21 Amangeaux's two years: she goes back to Vegetania and stays close to the Bishop, secretly has Karna spread the idea of wedding Tomaté; Persuasion 19; Lady Wedgla of House Iceberg turns against her and Lord Cabbage rises; Karna's message to Tomaté (Persuasion 17) gets an opening.
- 00:19:45 Amangeaux and Raphaniel plan her return to Fructera; Raphaniel's Investigation/Persuasion (natural 20, total 30) shows Tomaté is panicking, hiding in Comida.
- 00:25:09 Raphaniel urges Amangeaux to leave Greenhold, marry Tomaté, and travel as a pilgrim under the Bulb's banner with Karna and Sir Allium Goldring as escort.
- 00:29:47 Raphaniel's two years: the funeral of Madame Greenpatch, a feverish search of church records for the Fellowship (a "dirty 20"; nothing found, pages missing), letters to Deli, resources for Karna in Comida; recurring visions of darkness, teeth, a scream and flesh.
- 00:37:44 Karna meets Raphaniel in the Greenhold cathedral disguised as the washerwoman Gemma; she asks for "a chess piece" to present to Tomaté; Raphaniel names Sir Drunon; Raphaniel and Karna exchange contested checks; Raphaniel casts Subtle Spell Detect Thoughts on her and gets "absence, void".
- 00:47:55 In the Meat Lands, Deli and Colin return from a failed clan gathering to a sealed scroll (the Fellowship calls them for the sixth day of Frostdusk, "Bring him"); Colin finds his own scroll that says "We gave one to Deli already."
- 00:53:34 Deli and Colin take a ship to Comida by the Yogurt Shoals and Pulp Bay.
- 00:54:06 Amangeaux sends a message through Karna to a simple house in Comida; Raphaniel declines to help with the Drunon plan.
- 00:56:21 Karna, invisible, kills Sir Drunon in a house of ill repute, flicks the knife at the woman with him (her death is not stated), burns an offering to the Hungry One, and takes his head.
- 01:00:44 Raphaniel decides to follow and spreads propaganda in Greenhold that Drunon's death shows the rebel lords unified Fructera by scaring the queen away.
- 01:02:41 Karna, Amangeaux and Raphaniel find a scroll in their carriage ("The three of you gather fortuitously"); Raphaniel claims he was "grandfathered in".
- 01:05:49 Deli and Colin leave; Sirley Haig asks where they are going and gives frank views on sex; he is told to keep Veyn in check; Colin's Insight 13 finds no mischief.
- 01:12:14 Raphaniel stops at Brightgarden to ask Sister Ryely Underbake to investigate the damage to holy texts; he explains atonement to Karna on the road.
- 01:15:11 Arrival at Comida at night; Amangeaux, shadowed unseen by Karna, visits a hidden house where an old woman keeps a baby wine grape in a crib; Karna spots the burp stain on her shoulder and sets urchins to watch the house.
- 01:23:19 Colin arranges empty crates to leave Comida with the dockmaster Ludos Whitespear (persuasion total 2 on hiring him); Deli sends missives to Fructeran nobles.
- 01:27:52 The sixth day of Frostdusk: the five meet at the halted Great Pyramid of Food; Karna blushes at Deli; Colin announces he is "Skald".
- 01:32:16 In the basement about ten cloaked, masked figures welcome them; they order the five to ambush and slay an operative coming down the Glucian Road within three days, give them a watersteel dagger, and send them with the mercenary Darren "Dishless" Quichéi.
- 01:45:01 Raphaniel muses that the Fellowship's recruiting is "as much about us" as the plan; Quichéi lays out the bridge plan and is read by Karna (Insight 10) and by Raphaniel's Detect Thoughts ("in it for the money").
- 01:53:18 They split for the night; Raphaniel grills Colin about his past; they move to Karna's safehouse where Deli cooks stew and says he has killed "a couple of times".
- 02:00:42 Karna and Amangeaux decide to reach Tomaté before leaving; Karna tells Deli everything; Karna's Investigation (advantage, a "dirty 20") finds Tomaté in a mason's guild building; she shows Deli Drunon's head, turns into Ja'Cru in front of Deli and Colin, and sets off alone.
- 02:08:02 Karna passes seven crossbowmen on the rooftops and meets Tomaté as Ja'Cru; she gives him Drunon's head, proposes he marry Lady Amangeaux, clears the room, says the queen has "her son, his son" in the city, takes off Ja'Cru's ring and leaves it; Tomaté asks for a return in three days.
- 02:18:24 At first Bulbian light the group leaves with Quichéi along the Glucian Road; Matt ends the episode at the root-stone bridge over the grape juice river and says the ambush will be picked up in episode three.
- 02:20:46 A next-episode preview begins (see Table talk).
