What happens
- 00:00:05 Aabria's greeting names the six archfey (Hob, Rue as "Master of Ceremonies", BINX Choppley, Andhera, and the Lords of the Wing). Her recap of the previous chapter: the hedge maze "revealed myriad secrets", "the big reveal of BINX's true identity", Rue and BINX partnered in the maze, the cousins "sowed some delicious chaos", Hob "made the heartbreaking choice to pursue duty over his heart", and Andhera, after removing his sister from the competition, made a way for BINX to win the Crystal Heart — 00:00:59–00:01:46. The table jokes about a hand touch — 00:01:46–00:01:57 (see Table talk).

- 00:31:10 Surena's two letters: BINX, living under a radiator in the castle, leaves a black apple ("Thank you for seeing me") at Andhera's door, past his dog; she writes to Hob (signed Gwyn), delivers it herself, and runs to the tailor's; Sending messages arrive from Gwyndolin and BINX writes back; Rue writes the Wave Master and is invited to meet at the crescent moon; Andhera leaves BINX a tide-pool letter and sends Chirp a mis-sent pick-up line, and Chirp's reply is read by Advisor as a book review — 00:31:10–00:53:34.
- 00:53:34 The birds scream: Grandfather's voice through the birdsong says he will join them for the climax of the Bloom. In the nest Squak tells Chirp he is engaged to the Baroness Alven and is "shopping around"; Chirp tells him she is married and has a child on the Material Plane; their butler Gobble overhears and is calmed with Otto's Irresistible Dance, Gift of Gab and a Persuasion (19) — 00:53:34–01:05:18.
- 01:05:18 Chirp says she cannot satisfy Rue's wager and has sent Rue a missive to offer setting up two other people instead — 01:05:18. Chirp says she is "partnered for now" and names "Esmé"; Squak asks "Is that their name?" and she says yes — 01:07:17–01:07:33. Hob (Perception 10) approaches the nest through the loud birds — 01:06:29.
- 01:07:55 Hob visits the Lords of the Wing. Flashback inside the scene: what Hob found in the trash (Insight 7): the Court of Wonder is scrambling, assuming the Crystal Heart will go to Prince Apollo and putting out feelers "to get Prince Apollo a true match now that the goblin unpleasantness is behind them"; the cover-up feels in-house, with no culprit identifiable — 01:09:08, 01:11:33. Hob presses Squak and Chirp over the rumor about the engagement; they say "We are of one mind" and name no source; Hob leaves and walks into Andhera at the door, telling him to meet at the eastern gate in ten minutes, and sends BINX a note to bring a second from another court — 01:08:02–01:18:40.
- 01:18:40 A salt goblin messenger finds BINX, who takes him to Rue's tower in disguise; he asks her "you're Gwyndolin?" and BINX answers "Fuck!" and asks for his silence — 01:25:19, 01:25:23, 01:25:32; BINX (Intimidation 14) and Rue (Intimidation 25) try to silence him; BINX casts Sleep. BINX asks Rue to be her second; after BINX says she watches and notices a lot, Rue speaks of how Hob makes them feel and agrees to come after BINX's talk about acting on one's feelings — 01:18:40–01:32:33.
- 01:32:35 Andhera visits the nest, casts Zone of Truth on Chirp, confesses that he is in over his head and learns Chirp is "deeply" in love but not with him; he offers himself as a "beard"; they part as friends — 01:32:38–01:40:49.
