Monastery of the Sacred Rat
Perry tells the party that Fred and Marty started the Monastery of the Sacred Rat a couple of years ago, and that its monks protect the insect folk of New York from aggressors in the tiny world of New York UC2 E11·00:36:20. He says it is up in the Bronx, in an old hot dog cart that fell through a sewer grate about ten years ago, and that the party's size will make it hard to get there UC2 E11·00:35:59 UC2 E11·00:36:52. At the monastery Brennan describes a beautiful structure of popsicle sticks, crumpled old cans and lights at the corner of the cart UC2 E11·02:15:35. The monks greet the party with "All is one and one is all" and "We love you, rat Jesus" UC2 E11·02:19:16 UC2 E11·02:19:38.
The Monastery of the Sacred Rat is a cockroach monastery on an old hot dog cart in the Bronx, devoted to Kugrash as Rat Jesus and led by Marty UC2 E11·00:36:52 UC2 E11·02:15:35 UC2 E12·00:00:22. Its doctrine is that all is one and one is all, and it has its own sacred hairdo and a dance UC2 E11·02:19:16 UC2 E11·02:20:46 UC2 E11·02:21:02. In UC2_12 the cart is the battle site: its courtyard has little barricades of hot dog buns with toothpicks, the roof is the top of the cart, and cockroaches keep the hot dog pits heated UC2 E12·00:35:43 UC2 E12·01:07:32 UC2 E12·00:13:57.
After the party helps defend it against the ants, the monks show tremendous courtesy and hospitality to the prisoners, and Marty offers to reach out to Kugrash for them UC2 E12·01:39:30 UC2 E12·01:49:27. The party later returns to commune with Kugrash on the napkin shelf UC2 E13·00:38:15. In UC2_18 Kugrash asks whether Sofia would be First Fist of the Order of Rat Jesus, and Marty offers her the post at their hot dog cart UC2 E18·01:36:53 UC2 E18·01:37:01.
