Johnny Spells' soul contract with Gorthalax the Insatiable is a document Riz finds under Zayn Darkshadow's bed while the party searches Zayn's apartment E7·01:01:51. The party works out that Zayn reverse-engineered the ritual Johnny Spells used to become a warlock, and that holding the contract must have given Zayn "incredible power over Johnny Spells" E7·01:03:29.
The recap of the next episode recalls the find of Johnny Spells' soul contract with Gorthalax the Insatiable E8·00:00:06. Gorthalax himself later says Johnny Spells somehow lost his contract even though he was careful with it, and Fig answers that Zayn Darkshadow had it E9·00:33:41 E9·00:34:01.
