Father Belford Buttercream

The Pontifex puts it to King Amethar that a marriage was performed by Father Belford Buttercream of the Bulbian Church and asks if this is correct CC E5·02:11:49. Amethar whispers "How do you know that?" and then answers "Yes" CC E5·02:11:57.

Father Belford Buttercream is a priest of the Bulbian Church named by the Pontifex as the man who performed Amethar's marriage, which Amethar confirms CC E5·02:11:49 CC E5·02:11:57. The Pontifex goes on to say the marriage was never annulled, and Amethar answers that the annulment was never official CC E5·02:12:02 CC E5·02:12:08.

In a flashback in CC_07, Citrina tells Lazuli and Amethar that an annulment would need Father Belford to be found and both spouses present CC E7·00:13:35. In CC_09 Annabelle says they can comb the Dairy Islands for Catherine Ghee and for Father Belford CC E9·00:35:06.

In CC_15 Annabelle tells Amethar that Catherine Ghee is buried in a small graveyard of a Bulbian church on the Isle of Crumble CC E15·02:03:23. She says that a Father Belford Buttercream at that church had noted her death in the ledger CC E15·02:03:23.
