New Texas

In the first episode Brennan cuts to a couple of years later, with Norman in a dull brown office with the shades drawn and the wispy kind of desert of New Texas behind him SOE1·00:12:21. In that scene an officer tells Norman they are not going to put the squadron under his command SOE1·00:12:33.

In the sixth episode Brennan says a nearby place the crew can reach without going faster than light is an old Amercadian colony world called New Texas, which has a lot of friction with Amercadia SOE6·01:20:51. He says that all the people on New Texas feel they love Amercadia, and as a result they hate Amercadians, who they feel do not love Amercadia as much SOE6·01:20:51. He says it is a Brigade outpost that is an entire planet, at the fringes of Amercadian space, with a ton of ship nurseries where a ship can be modded cheaply SOE6·01:20:51.

In the seventh episode Brennan's recap says the ship traveled through real space from the Martini Nebula to New Texas, a far-flung, rough-and-tumble Amercadian colony world, and touched down at a ship nursery in Baustin, New Texas SOE7·00:04:54.
