Dungeons and Drag Queens, episode 1: Queens on a Quest
In Kelvorda four heroes who met at a tavern called the Fish Tank head up the Gallows Road for the Temple of Wraiths and the Underworld's entrance, each for her own reason. The assassin Troyánn carries the Soul Keeper Amulet from her mother, Queen Inira of Everdeep, to pay a debt of seven souls a season, the orc barbarian Princess is the last of the Foehammers after the fire at Castle Ravenspear, the sorceress Gertrude has left her home on word of an inquisitor of the Glaring Sun hunting a witch who cannot die, and the fey ranger Twyla carries the Seed of the All-Blossom from the dying Lieutenant Alvin. In the Hero's Hall in Greeley Troyánn finds her mark, Mark Ronson, already dead in a closet, and Princess, who smelled burning cedar, punches the goblin Bump Williams through a window, scattering five Wraith Clasps that Twyla knows as fey disguises. A thought Gertrude overhears leads them to the stablehand Wallace and his hidden blood-red clasp, and at the well Princess snaps his spine, revealing him as undead. Asked who killed Mark Ronson, he says, "Your cousin Keena says hello." 01:37:55, speaks of a white-eyed woman with the Sun God's symbol asking about a witch, and when Troyánn pulls off his clasp he turns to mist bearing the face of Zaria Hex, whom only Twyla knows, then to cedar-scented smoke. Dungeons and Drag Queens, episode 2: Welcome to the Underworld
In the Underworld the party heads unseen for Hollowgrave, and at the River of Sorrow Troyánn calls a dead sperm whale to ferry them, glimpsing in the water her father, Roy, who tells her, "They lied to you." 00:19:32 On the far bank the dead who try to board are fought off, and one proves to be Princess's uncle, Kerwyn Foehammer, who says Zaria Hex struck him dead by sorcery on the night of the fire, and who joins them. Troyánn is one soul short of seven, believing her cousin Keena took Mark Ronson's, so the party tricks the demon merchant Nyruth out of the soul of Oliver Leiber and flees, only to lose it to the Janari guards. At the Inn of the Empty Glass the vampire D'Hamia supplies a stand-in soul for Princess's blood, and Shalila of the Half Mask, taking Gertrude's word that the others are in training, accepts the seven souls but lets slip that Troyánn's mother made a deal with the goddess Thanara to live forever, for 28 souls a year, and hints that Troyánn's father did the job before her. Reading the minds of Shalila's death knights, Gertrude sees Roy ask Thanara to free the souls he brought, offer everything and be swallowed, before Thanara turns to look straight at Gertrude, who flees and tells Troyánn. Under red lightning that Twyla and Princess both remember, the party follows Shalila and the footprints of Zaria's army toward the Tower of Tombs. 00:02:26–02:17:24
Dungeons and Drag Queens, episode 3: The Time Has Come
Gertrude confesses she came down hoping to have her soul taken but now wants to live, and Nyruth, approached honestly, trades the soul of Oliver Leiber for the corrupted Wraith Clasp and gives Gertrude a flying carpet for carrying a green vial that would take her curse if it is ever lifted. Overtaking Shalila, Troyánn wins her over with a game-night invitation, and she returns the Amulet of Souls and warns that others are at the tower. After a field of swords and a soul storm, the dead dragon rider Norelle Blaze shelters and arms them, and disguised as undead they hear Zaria Hex vow to destroy the last Seed of the All-Blossom, flanked by Keena and Morgan of the Glaring Sun, a witch hunter seeking a witch who cannot die. In the tower the netted Wallace names three keys, and apart, Gertrude hears Thanara ask if she never wondered who cursed her and takes a key from Roy's ghost, Twyla finds Queen Titania bound in a tapestry, and Princess's dead father, Ronarian, says Zaria was in the fey realms at the massacre and Kerwyn never died. At the pool Troyánn finds cedar-scented matches in Kerwyn's pocket before Keena arrives and the living Kerwyn admits a deal for the power of death if he put every Foehammer but himself in the Underworld, and she escapes with the key. Dungeons and Drag Queens, episode 4: In the Heart of Death
In Thanara's throne room Twyla's first volley leaves Zaria Hex badly hurt, Kerwyn drops his pretence, Troyánn's wind blows Keena into the abyss, Gertrude scorches Morgan, and Princess leaps up beside Kerwyn, who rages that she has stood between him and true power. Zaria, seeing the seed, strikes Twyla with lightning, but Twyla's summoned Buddy Bear claws her off the platform, Princess pushes Kerwyn into the open void, and when Morgan brings Keena back and Keena strikes Troyánn down, Twyla heals her and Princess kills Keena with her axe. With three of the four foes dead and Morgan badly wounded, Gertrude turns Morgan's cone of searing light back on her, and Twyla's arrow makes Morgan burst into light and vanish. Thanara halts the fight and grants four wishes: Princess's whole family is restored except Kerwyn, Roy returns and agrees with Troyánn to take down Inira, and Twyla asks for her fey dead and for Gertrude's curse to be lifted, but Gertrude stops Thanara and offers her the vial. Thanara reveals that her blessing on Gertrude as a child twisted into the curse of immortality, yet says she cannot leave a realm she alone powers, until Buddy Bear sits on the throne and she steps down, Twyla plants the seed, and Thanara blows her own curse into the vial and leaves through a portal as the Underworld becomes Fairie and Alvin, Isadora, Martha and Titania return. From behind a tree Nyruth says, "Oh, but you still have your curse." 02:23:23, and proposes a quest for a curse-breaking talisman. 00:01:22–02:23:23
