Trolls

Hobbert and Frod are two massive trolls, the guardians of the throne room of the Lord of Shadows BK E1·01:21:19. Hobbert welcomes visitors to the throne room BK E1·01:21:37. Frod asks whether, once the elves, dwarves and humans are beaten, the trolls will all move to where there are trees and sunshine BK E1·01:24:00. Hobbert says he has heard legends of picnics and tea cups BK E1·01:25:21.

The trolls are Hobbert and Frod, the guardians of the throne room, who stand outside the doors while the heroes meet the Lord of Shadows BK E1·01:21:19 BK E1·01:50:43. When the heroes later reach the throne room they tell them the Lord of Shadows is taking a nap and having a snack, and when the doors fly open they come out weeping and say the heroes made the door happen BK E3·01:48:46 BK E3·01:54:19 BK E3·01:54:26.

Hobbert and Frod burst into the underside of the zeppelin during the airship battle, and Frod says "You made a door happen." BK E4·01:31:29 BK E4·01:31:11. Maggie kicks Hobbert back onto the zeppelin and later pulls Markus away from a troll that Brennan names as Frod BK E4·02:03:57 BK E4·02:21:27 BK E4·02:22:09. When Leiland leaves the falling zeppelin, Brennan says all the goblins and Hobbert fall toward the volcano BK E4·02:18:14. Markus kicks a troll in the chest out into the open sky, and that is Frod, who plummets toward the volcano shouting "The most happened door I've ever seen!" BK E4·02:27:32 BK E4·02:27:47.

Both trolls are back in the final battle in the Bloodkeep BK E6·00:09:36. Brennan says it has been established that Hobbert fully hates doors, and Hobbert tells Markus that everyone has been opening doors all day and he cannot keep it straight BK E6·00:49:02 BK E6·00:50:04. Frod tells Leiland he made a door happen again and hits him for 25 damage BK E6·01:38:03 BK E6·01:38:28. Brennan notes that Leiland's strike at the troll is the first time Frod has been injured in the fight BK E6·02:31:02 BK E6·02:31:07. Leiland kills Hobbert with Griefmaker, and he falls lifeless into the void BK E6·02:39:59.
