A card calls him a grey elven smith, and a branded mark keeps him alive without food BK E3·00:50:26 BK E3·00:50:39. When he is lifted out he greets Kraz-Thun the Umbra Knight, and tells him "You put me in that cage and I don't remember who I was" BK E3·00:52:32 BK E3·00:52:01.

Avanash is an elven crownsmith held in an oubliette in Karradkar, whom Efink's group frees to reforge a crown BK E3·00:33:50 BK E3·00:50:39 BK E3·00:54:15. He is obsessed with his bones, asks for a pact that if anything happens to his bones he gets theirs, and says that intelligence and competence are domain specific, so he feels capable at crafting crowns but not at protecting his bones BK E3·00:56:24 BK E3·00:59:41. Sokhbarr distrusts him from the start BK E3·00:57:00. Maggie promises him she will take him shopping, and Jessa dresses him in a robe BK E3·01:04:06 BK E3·01:09:00.

At the forge he takes the crown and goes to work, asking whether they want it done fast or done well BK E3·01:13:14 BK E3·01:13:30. When it is finished, he says the crown is perfect, but that he gave it to little Hamhead after popping her chains BK E3·01:28:32 BK E3·01:29:13.
