The formless figure in Times Square
In Nod's Times Square, Brennan describes a figure like an invisible person that you can see through, with everything seen through it robbed of its color, so there are no features or outline, only a human-like shape UC2 E6·01:00:05. Pete's attempt to read its thoughts with Detect Thoughts gets only "Static." UC2 E6·01:00:36 UC2 E6·01:00:40.
The figure turns toward Pete, and a voice like a guy he went to high school with comes out of the speaker of his phone UC2 E6·01:00:49. The voice says "Wow, look at all these dreams." UC2 E6·01:01:44 and "Most of these will never come true. I suppose hope is kind of painful that way." UC2 E6·01:02:03. Brennan says that it is a voice from Pete's phone and no person is there, and that maybe it does not talk from a place because it is nowhere UC2 E6·01:02:25.
The figure is a colorless human-like shape in Nod's Times Square that Pete meets while feeling isolated UC2 E6·01:00:05. Brennan says his isolation attached him more strongly to the Umbra UC2 E6·01:03:01. Pete runs at it and casts Banishment UC2 E6·01:03:13 UC2 E6·01:03:41, and Brennan says the figure is "bigger than Nod, bigger than New York, bigger than anything" UC2 E6·01:04:04 and formless, extending into the depths of the Dreaming UC2 E6·01:04:04.
The figure vanishes from Nod, and Brennan says it is gone for the moment UC2 E6·01:04:04 UC2 E6·01:06:06. Pete finds Nod withered on the Empire State Building and Brennan says Nod and the place were being devoured by whatever that thing was UC2 E6·01:06:06 UC2 E6·01:07:20. The Times Square signs come back on without color UC2 E6·01:07:20. Brennan says even "entity" is too humanizing a word for what it was, and the episode does not name it UC2 E6·01:06:06.
In UC2_10, in a vision of the previous Vox Phantasma Heather, a gray spot grows in a purple sky and becomes a silhouette of a figure in a suit that extends a hand to her UC2 E10·01:14:43. Brennan likens the silhouette that Pete had thought of as the entity to an anglerfish's little lantern, a lantern of something you cannot see, and Heather vanishes as she is erased from the feet up UC2 E10·01:15:28 UC2 E10·01:15:43.
