Lazarus
A gray child with inky black eyes and black tears appears to Pete and says "Heed the words of Lazarus before it's too late" UC E1·00:28:02. The child disappears, and Pete finds himself in an alleyway surrounded by SantaCon people UC E1·00:28:10. Nothing else is said about Lazarus in this scene UC E1·00:28:10.
Lazarus is a name that Pete connects to a voice in his dreams. The gray child tells Pete to heed the words of Lazarus in UC_01 and UC_02 UC E1·00:28:02 UC E2·01:24:12. In UC_03 Pete tells the others he pushed a button after being asked, was told "Spread the news I'm leaving today", and thinks the voice's name was Lazarus UC E3·00:28:49. Alejandro sums it up as a voice in dreams that Pete spoke to and released from some kind of bondage, which could be very bad UC E3·00:29:30 UC E3·00:29:42.
In UC_05 Pete wonders whether Lazarus took over his father's soul UC E5·00:39:28 UC E5·00:39:41. Esther says the gray orphan is never referred to as Lazarus in any writings, and Alejandro says they have found no reference to a Lazarus in the Dreaming UC E5·01:06:12 UC E5·01:06:26. Misty asks whether it could be the biblical Lazarus, and Alejandro says that is not a bad guess UC E5·01:06:33 UC E5·01:07:49. Willy points instead to the poet Emma Lazarus UC E5·01:29:08.
In UC_07 Misty concludes that the Lazarus in question is the poet, not the biblical one: "Emma Lazarus, it's not Lazarus from the bible, it's Emma Lazarus!" UC E7·00:31:57. In UC_09 Pete asks about Lazarus, and Nod answers that "Lazarus was a powerful Vox Phantasma. In her time, in the mid-1800s, she was the voice of Dream" UC E9·00:39:37 UC E9·00:39:44. This ties the voice Lazarus to Emma Lazarus UC E9·00:39:44.
