The woodsman
The woodsman is only mentioned. In Ylfa's flashback a voice inside her family's house says that the wolf can wear the clothes and voices of others, and that their only hope is that "the woodsman will come" with the morrow NA E1·01:46:38. Ylfa answers that the woodsman does not come NA E1·01:46:48.
The woodsman never appears in person in the season, but Ylfa remembers destroying him in one of her stories. In the fourth episode the wolf tells Ylfa that down the left-hand path is a story where he does not die by her hand but the woodsman kills him and she is reunited with her grandmother NA E4·01:32:50. Ylfa asks where the woodsman was, and the wolf answers that the woodsman's actions are varied across different stories and that he is a character in her tale NA E4·01:34:13. The wolf says the right-hand path leads to other stories, some of which might answer the question of the woodsman, and Ylfa takes it NA E4·01:34:44 NA E4·01:44:07. Taking the right-hand path, Ylfa gains a second set of memories in which she went to the woodsman first and destroyed him with her claws NA E4·01:44:20 NA E4·01:47:14. She later tells Miss Muffet she murdered a woodsman NA E6·01:36:35. In the ninth episode's flashback Ylfa waits at her grandmother's bedside for the woodsman NA E9·00:55:31.
