The giants

In the first episode the giants are only spoken of. The Briars tell Rosamund that giants, wizards and witches cannot touch her in the tower NA E1·00:16:15. Princess Elody lists giants striding in the land among what now befalls all of the realms NA E1·00:36:53. In a conversation with Pib, Tomas says there are giants at the border and that many of the kingdom's fortresses have been destroyed and smashed apart NA E1·00:54:04.

Later in the first episode, in a flashback, Brennan describes a foot larger than a house smashing the old mill NA E1·00:57:00. Cole says he heard that Marienne was overrun by giants NA E1·02:00:39.

In the eighteenth episode Brennan describes an illustration in the book of Pib looking up at thunderclouds, surrounded on all sides by giants charging toward him NA E18·01:30:18 NA E18·01:30:38. On the road a giant calls "Fee, fi, fo, fum", and Brennan says the mountains start moving, with beings 100 feet tall, fairy tale giants like skyscrapers NA E18·01:44:48 NA E18·01:44:59. A giant accuses the cat of killing their little brother, the Ogre of Carabas, turned into a mouse, and demands the trickster NA E18·01:45:37. Another tells Pib he has stepped out to die NA E18·01:46:29. When Pib plays the harp the giants take drowsy steps, and the last one goes down inches from him, snoring NA E18·01:53:02 NA E18·01:53:24. Hanging from one of the giants' gibbets on the path they guard, Pib sees Timothy's son, and once the giants are asleep he brings him to the Baba Yaga's cottage NA E18·01:46:47 NA E18·01:53:35 NA E18·01:58:30. Brennan says the Baba Yaga's cottage then walks through a land of giants that are all sleeping NA E18·01:58:30.
