The knife

When the manor piles into the dressing room, Brennan says Sylvester sees a bloody knife in the Squire's hand and an open wound over his heart MM E2·02:19:45 MM E2·02:21:52. Mrs. Molesly, her hands bloody, says there was a flash of something and the squire was "digging into his own chest with a knife" MM E2·02:22:11.

In MM_03 Buckster crouches to listen, and Brennan says his hand grazes his ankle and his ankle knife is missing MM E3·00:21:59. Brennan describes the knife in the dead squire's hand as a hunting knife with a prairie pronghorn bone handle, whose blade has never been used MM E3·00:34:29. Later Brennan reminds Sylvester that he sees the pronghorn-handled knife that no one else has clocked yet MM E3·01:40:36.

In MM_04 Brennan tells Buckster that, for the first time, he looks down and sees his knife in Squire Badger's hands MM E4·00:32:14. Buckster later says he typically keeps a knife at his ankle, the same knife that was used, it would seem, to murder Squire Badger MM E4·01:06:26. He says he heard a scream, came running, and when he went down to his ankle his knife was gone MM E4·01:06:46. Buckster suggests that the squire may have taken the knife himself, or that the two mice who were with him behind a curtain, who claimed to be playing pool, may have found it and run with it MM E4·01:09:49.

In MM_08 the party shares that the two mice were holding Buckster's knife MM E8·00:19:50 MM E8·00:19:51. Buckster offers Gangie triple a small fortune if he gets the dagger from the pair of mice back to him MM E8·00:28:38. In MM_09 Brennan says that the knife is still with the mouse maids MM E9·01:57:13. In MM_10 Buckster, in "exposing evidence mode", has the mice expose his own knife in front of the guests, and the room gasps MM E10·02:13:28 MM E10·02:14:17. Afterwards Edwina and Carolyn apologize for holding it, saying it fell on the floor of the billiards room when Buckster fell down, and that a gentleman in the library who said he would return it for them was Mr. Longfoot MM E10·02:34:45 MM E10·02:35:12. Buckster answers that, in a roundabout way, much to his expense, Longfoot did return it MM E10·02:35:21.
