Ritual chamber

The ritual chamber is a candlelit room at the bottom of the elevator, with an altar in front and writing in blood scrawled everywhere MM E9·01:39:59. The writing speaks as a servant of the serpent and says it slew Ignatius Cottonbottom and captured his soul MM E9·01:39:59. Brennan describes bodies taken to be Jeremy Brockhollow and Osmond Sheffield lying on the altar MM E9·01:39:59.

The ritual chamber is the deepest place the elevator reaches, a candlelit room with an altar and blood writing that claims a curse on the Cottonbottom family MM E9·01:39:59. The bodies taken to be Jeremy Brockhollow and Osmond Sheffield on the altar are decoys: Gangie sees their eyes fixed straight ahead like the other fake bodies, and Brennan says "Decoys" MM E9·01:43:07 MM E9·01:43:28. The Vicar finds containers of blood near a small Bunsen burner under a painter's cloth, which Brennan says are final touches of whoever was staging the murders, and evidence that the murders were staged MM E9·01:44:02 MM E9·01:44:52.

In the finale Brennan says the elevator is trapped at the very bottom, in the satanic ritual room, and Gangie goes back down the spiral staircase to the room, where he sees the bodies, and takes the elevator up with the key MM E10·00:55:53 MM E10·00:56:36.
