Josiah Jackrabbit is one of the biggest competitor oil barons in Texas, as Buckster knows him MM E2·02:05:25. He appears only in a letter, whose addendum lets Hazel Hogswallop sign a proxy vote over to him MM E2·02:05:25. Brennan tells Buckster that Josiah holds no shares himself and is only named as proxy, and that Buckster is not worried about him MM E2·02:08:32. Brennan also says Josiah is not liquid enough to pay what the squire's stake is worth, unless the squire parted with it for a song MM E2·02:08:32.

Josiah Jackrabbit is a rival Texas oil baron of Buckster's who is never seen on screen MM E2·02:05:25. The squire's hastily written letter in MM_02 would let Hazel Hogswallop sign a proxy vote over to him, and Buckster reads it as a desperate move that someone else is pushing MM E2·02:05:25 MM E2·02:08:30 MM E2·02:09:29. In MM_03 the recap calls out his name, and when Mr. Sheffield asks who the squire's equity was transferred to, Sam says Buckster tries not to mention Josiah and names Hazel instead MM E3·00:01:58 MM E3·01:40:07 MM E3·01:40:13. In MM_09 Brennan's text about the squire's records lists a meal credited in Houston, "Josiah Jackrabbit's hometown" MM E9·01:17:21.
