Fake police

In MM_08 Gangie says he used to work for Cottonbottom, and that he has recognised five former Cottonbottom criminals in the house MM E8·00:38:26 MM E8·00:38:59. He says they are the police officers who recently arrived, and gives their real names as Ronnie Socks, Jiminy Jellicle, Paul Rover, Fido McFang and Roger Barksdale MM E8·00:41:11 MM E8·00:41:22 MM E8·00:41:31. He calls all of them loyalists to the Cottonbottoms MM E8·00:41:47. Daisy says she had been wondering why there were four or five police officers MM E8·00:41:40.

They arrive in MM_07 as the police: Brennan tells Sylvester he is escorted down to a group of police officers in the entrance hall, one of whom manacles him, and that there are three dogs and two cats among the constables MM E7·02:17:18. In MM_08 Gangie identifies the newly arrived officers as five Cottonbottom criminals with the real names Ronnie Socks, Jiminy Jellicle, Paul Rover, Fido McFang and Roger Barksdale MM E8·00:41:22 MM E8·00:41:31 MM E8·00:41:47. Buckster concludes that if Fletcher's accomplices are in the house, Fletcher is driving the whole affair and Sylvester is innocent MM E8·00:53:24. Buckster says Daisy gave her book to the fake police and asks to get it back MM E8·00:57:34. Brennan tells Lars there are four police in the room and only five came through the door, and Ally works out that at most one is left watching Sylvester MM E8·01:05:32 MM E8·01:05:59. In the kitchen one of them greets Lars as Sergeant Vandenchomp, and Lars punches him, after which Sylvester shorts the stove and the man is knocked unconscious MM E8·01:16:48 MM E8·01:19:08.

In MM_09 the constables shout up the elevator shaft that someone is helping "that villain Cross" MM E9·01:43:48. They threaten to take prisoners and get information "the hard way" MM E9·01:43:48. They terrorise the guests, demand to know where Sylvester Cross is, post a guard at the boathouse doors, and rough up Mrs. Molesly MM E9·01:57:34 MM E9·01:57:42 MM E9·02:03:20 MM E9·02:03:37.

In MM_10 Brennan calls the two constables in the drawing room "secret criminals" MM E10·00:04:04. Two of the five are in the drawing room, one of them bandaged from the kitchen fight MM E10·00:09:58. Lars silently knocks out a constable on the dock, and later tells Constance that the cops are bad and "Cottonbottom's men" MM E10·00:38:17 MM E10·00:54:44. When Buckster exposes the evidence against them, the two constables in the drawing room run out into the hall, where Constance Brockhollow, the squire's daughter, kills them MM E10·02:14:17.
