In his opening narration Brennan describes a land of ash and shadow under sunless and starless skies, with spiders, worgs and bats covering the land of Gorgar BK E1·00:00:52. The armies of Gorgar seek to stomp out the forces of light in the world of Elna BK E1·00:00:52.
Gorgar is the land of the dark armies, covered by spiders, worgs and bats BK E1·00:00:52. Later Kasara announces that the Door of Doom is laid low and the forces of light now walk freely in the northern realms of Gorgar BK E2·00:10:20. Jessa remarks that in Gorgar you pretty much have to be in caves to make a big web BK E3·00:41:32. The Siren flies over the ashy wastes of Gorgar in the airship battle BK E4·00:20:27.
At the end of the story a wave of shadows stretches over Gorgar, the forces of good are banished, and a new Lord of Shadows reigns there BK E6·02:43:14. Lilith is voted Queen Regent of Gorgar in elections BK E6·02:48:57 BK E6·02:49:11.
