The banana-peel robe is Bean's garment, made of banana peel TH E1·00:05:31. In TH_01 it survives a fire because it is very wet, and in TH_03 Bean pulls its hood up as he leaves Master Buttons at the Heap TH E1·01:38:28 TH E3·01:26:53. In TH_05 Brennan describes the thick banana peels of his robe as he leaps onto the button TH E5·00:27:01.

In TH_06 Bean slips off his half robe and throws it in front of an oncoming ramrod car TH E6·00:39:35. Griffin says Bean is sentimentally attached to it, since it was all that was left of his house when it got scooped up with a big shovel TH E6·00:41:21. Master Buttons's voice says everything good gets turned to dirt eventually and he must learn to let go, and the car hits the peel, fishtails and flies off the road TH E6·00:42:42.
