Fergus Ponst

Fergus Ponst is one of three students in red robes whom Tallulah Jillymont introduces to the Americans: "this is Digsby and this is Fergus" MAM E1·01:30:54. He is a taller, tanned, freckly ginger who is "kind of yoked up" and gives Jammer the athlete-to-athlete eye MAM E1·01:32:11. He trades names with Sam and asks whether Americans shake hands MAM E1·01:36:15 MAM E1·01:36:17. He says "I hope you get sorted into Hercinil" and explains that Hercinil is one of the houses MAM E1·01:36:22 MAM E1·01:36:28.

Fergus first meets the Americans in the first episode as one of Tallulah Jillymont's trio in red robes, and he says Hercinil is one of the houses MAM E1·01:36:28 MAM E1·01:36:39. In the second episode he sits with the Hercinil trio, catches Evan's eye as the Americans leave, and sweats over his cauldron at potions MAM E2·00:31:42 MAM E2·00:33:31 MAM E2·01:49:31. In the third episode, after the scuppers game, he passes Sam a note asking to meet for drinks and says they do not normally talk in the handshake line MAM E3·01:48:40 MAM E3·01:47:56.

In the finale he goes on a date with Sam, saying they have few chances to talk MAM E4·01:05:17. He tells her he is the youngest of five brothers MAM E4·01:06:35. He says he did not know Tallulah was going to attack her friend and apologizes: "It was really shitty, and I'm really sorry" MAM E4·01:07:49. He hints that Boudicca may have told Tallulah that nothing would happen, adding "But I don't really know" MAM E4·01:08:57 MAM E4·01:09:39. He recalls her message at the start of the year MAM E4·01:10:26, quoting it as "If we get you to leave then it's W column" MAM E4·01:10:48. During the dragon chase, asked whether he wants to be on the team, he answers "Honestly, yeah" MAM E4·02:44:41, and in the epilogue Danielle assumes he and Sam have become a couple MAM E4·02:46:33.
