In MM_08 Sylvester is thrown into the cellar with manacles on, along with his accoutrements, including the overcoat that Lars packed for him in the first episode MM E8·00:45:46. He feels a bulge in the coat's outer pocket and pulls out the old deerstalker hat, left on his doorstep many years ago MM E8·00:45:46 MM E8·00:46:37. Smelling it, he finds a part of the gift that he had missed, a tiny curved thieves' pick hidden in the hat MM E8·00:47:06.

Brennan says that with "Daisy's thief pick" he gets his hands free, though one manacle is still attached to his left wrist MM E8·00:47:06. Brennan also credits "that incredible kindness from Daisy and from Lars for packing it" MM E8·00:47:57.
