The chipmunks
The chipmunks are first seen when a chipmunk pops its little head out of the brown bear and smiles, with bursts of blood from its cheeks. BE E2·00:29:41 A chipmunk then drags Ava into the bear. BE E2·00:31:22 They have tongues made of ribbons that grapple. BE E2·00:43:24
The chipmunks live inside the bear and are parasites. BE E2·00:51:11 When the bear is hurt they swarm the attackers, worried that if it dies only bad things will come to them. BE E2·00:57:53 Aabria says they are smart enough to have moved into a bear and kept it alive, but not smart enough to achieve language. BE E2·01:09:52 Jaysohn and Lila kill several of them, and Lila keeps one's face. BE E2: Bearing the Scars
- The chipmunks — parasites living inside the bear; first seen at 00:29:41: "a creature pops its little head out, and you see just a little chipmunk looking up at you. And as you make eye contact, it gives just a little smile, and burbles of blood sort of shoot from its cheeks". They have "a tongue made of ribbons" (later "this proboscis") — 00:43:39, 00:59:01. Aabria on the naming: "named via Chipmunks, Chipettes, and Chippendale" — 00:41:09. Number of chipmunks: not said ("more chipmunks" — 00:50:32).
- Brittany — a girl chipmunk, who grapples Ava and attacks her with claw and tongue: "This chipmunk that you see now is a girl. You'll see the naming convention in a second." — 00:37:16; Aabria: "Yeah, that's Brittany." — 00:41:18; "Brittany is going to turn to you, and takes a multi attack." — 00:43:24. Her fate is not said.
- Simon — the chipmunk Lila attacks first (14 damage): "Simon takes 14 points of damage." — 00:41:21. Lila has advantage against Simon "forever" — 00:41:47. Aabria later: "Explain how you kill Simon, my little chipmunk." — 01:15:07
- Behaviour: they are "pretty smart", "smart enough to have, with its friends, moved into a bear, figured out how to keep it alive enough that they are now moving through the woods safely in a den of their own making, but not quite smart enough to, like, achieve language" — 01:09:52. They cannot be told to do something else — 01:10:44. When the bear is hurt they "are worried that if the bear dies, only bad things will come to them" and swarm the attackers — 00:57:53
