NPCs · first: LEV E4

Octavio Costello Gainglynn

Octavio Costello Gainglynn, who goes by Cos for short, is Bob's father, and a card calls him a legendary musician LEV E4·00:38:44 LEV E4·00:40:00. He appears on Bob's magic mirror as an older, debonair pirate with a mustache and goatee and a long bandana, sitting in a small rowboat at sea with a rune-covered golden mandolin LEV E4·00:32:37. Brennan describes him as a human with a legendary, ring-bedecked, magic-item-covered look LEV E4·00:38:44. He says he is rowing to the edge of the sunset to try to sail off the edge of the world to find the way back to heaven to see Bob's mother, and that his adventuring life has gone on for "37 years now" LEV E4·00:34:31 LEV E4·00:36:47.

Octavio Costello Gainglynn, called Cos, is Bob's human father, a legendary bard and pirate who rows a small boat over the sea with a runed golden mandolin LEV E4·00:32:37 LEV E4·00:38:44. In LEV_04 he calls Bob and tells him it is fine to cry, that his adventuring life began when his mandolin song was heard by an elemental, and that it has gone on for 37 years LEV E4·00:36:47. He tells Bob that being a second-generation adventurer has its own problems, with a legendary bard for a father and an incredibly powerful angel for a mother LEV E4·00:37:25. While Zarael is objecting to the word "escapes", his line cuts out after he says "Oh! This is the edge!" LEV E4·00:46:07.

In LEV_06 Bob is telling his mother about his adventure when a constellation of a rowboat and a little man made of stars appears in the sky LEV E6·01:45:51 LEV E6·01:45:56. Octavio cheers, saying he got into the sky just as Bob started singing, and when Bob says "Don't drink and row your boat" he answers that he is "dead sober" LEV E6·01:46:04 LEV E6·01:46:16.
